I have to sell my beloved 524td because I am too busy to mess with it and my family is growing. The car has given me many free road trips! It has good tires, new battery (couple months... has 3 yr warranty) new struts and half shafts, tie rods, center link, brakes (new brake fluid too), rebuilt injection pump (all viton). Everything rubber has been switched to viton (so the veggie oil doesn't break it down). Added a boost gauge so the turbo is confirmed working properly. The first owner of the car filled out the entire maintenance schedule all the way up to around 150k in the owners manual. All service was done by a BMW mechanic. Issues:The odometer stopped at 297k because of battery on the gauge panel. This is common for these cars. Not sure what gauges work but the tach is intermittent and fuel acts funny... I think the replacement battery would fix the whole panel. The car currently overheats... this is most likely a head gasket issue as is common with the 524td. A replacement head gasket runs about $70-$120 new (google "524td head gasket"). The car has a WVO kit that was $1600 new. There's a switch by the radio so you can switch between diesel and veggie oil. It gets awesome fuel mileage on either. There's a heated fuel tank in the trunk so you can use grease in the winter as well.... just start and stop it on diesel and switch to grease when the car heats up! I'm also willing to throw in a lot of fuel as well as give you really valuable information on collecting/ filtering veggie oil. Please watch the video and let me know if you have any questions...
