Up for auction is a nice example of a 1965 Ford Thunderbird 2 door coupe that was donated to a national charitable foundation. Since they rarely receive “nice” vehicles they do not normally run auctions on ebay. Since I am a long time ebay member I am helping him sell this car on behalf of the charity. Because my ebay reputation is at stake I insist on inspecting anything I am going to represent. While I know very little about classic cars I can certainly convey details based on my cursory examination of the vehicle and information provided to the charity by the donor: · The vehicle was donated from Arizona which is arguably one of the best States to own a classic vehicle due to the climate. · Mileage shows 127,807. · It appears to be mostly rust free as there are no apparent spots of rust or corrosion that you might see on an older car. · It is a matching numbers 390 V-8 motor. · It has been repainted. · Hubcaps are original and in good condition. · Rear wheel covers are original and in good condition. · It has power windows although the driver’s side window does not function (passenger works fine). · Interior is in very good condition with very little corrosion on the center console and switch panel. There are areas of paint wear on various vinyl/plastic trim pieces which could easily be rectified. The dash also shows some cracking and dryness. · Engine bay looks to be in above average to good condition. The vehicle starts easily, engages gears with no problem and drives normally. There appears to be no mechanical issue at this time of the inspection. · Air conditioning works. Since this vehicle was donated to a charitable foundation it will sell with NO RESERVE. There is no “buy it now” price as it is the obligation of the charity to receive the highest possible amount for the vehicle. The only way to determine that is to allow it to run its course through the auction. The description herein is based on an amateur inspection of the vehicle and in no way represents any kind of claim of it’s condition or street worthiness.
