For Sale: 1971 Chevelle SS 454 coupe, factory muncie 4 sp., tach & guages, P.S., PDB. functional cowl induction hood. This car was recently taken out of a 15 year storage. Before being put into storeage a body on restoration was begun. The engine, transmission and rear end were rebuilt. The engine is mostly factory original with numbers matching top end. Most all of the factory cowl induction items are correct and intact, i.e. air cleaner etc. The block is a period correct repacement with headers, and runs strong and smooth with no oil consumption, leaks or noise. The exhaust is fresh with factory tips. Transmission is very tight. It shifts crisply without whines or syncro problems. It does have a hurst shifter. The posi rear is also very quiet and tight, with the factory limited slip factory tag still in tact. New disc brake calipers came with the car and have been freshly installed. The car is a capable driver. The body is sound with only spots of paint chips and surface rust. No Rust Through! It can be driven as it is, but because of it's factory pedigree, it really deserves a quality paint job. It has had lower metal quarter panels and several small metal floor patches installed. the trunk pan is original and very solid as is the frame. Although the car has had some typical, localized repairs, no doubt, the long years of storage minimized the exposure to the elements and rust damage. The interior is mostly original. The carpet, I installed, as it came with the car in the box. A new head liner and sail panels also come with the car, new in the boxes. The 4 speed console is very nice and is not chipped or broken. The lid, lock and liner are very tight. The factory radio comes withe the car. The seat covers and door panels are original, clean and serviceable, but again, in my opinion, deserve to be replaced. The chrome and trim are mostly original and are very serviceable if the car where to be driven as is. The dash pad is very decent but does have one crack over the drivers gauges. the windshield has no cracks or chips. The tires are 90% and a matched set of BF Goodrich T/A radials on factory SS wheels with new center caps. The spare is also an SS wheel. This gives you a pretty good idea of what the car is. The reserve is very reasonable and gives plenty of room to restore the car and still be in it below market value. Good luck, and thank you! So here are some additional photos that I believe will answer any additional questions. As you can see it is solid and for the most part is original with several small metal patches...hardly detectable, but they are there. New floor pans are definitely not needed unless you were going to do a concours, world class, body off restoration and even then it would be debateable, as they could be easily made undetectable, but I want everyone to know they are there.
