Vehicle Detail
Up for sale here is my RUSTY 1983 Dodge Rampage GT Sport pickup truck. It is located near Cincinnati, Ohio and has a clear Ohio title in my posession. According to Motor Trend, 37,401 Rampage trucks were built over a 3 year period between 1982 and 1984. Of the 3 model years, 1983 is the rarest since only 8033 trucks were built. Only a fraction of those were built with the $572.00 GT sport package option like this one. The price tag on this truck when new was $7255.00. The odometer has been turned over once and exceeds it's mechanical limits, as stated on the title and in the AutoCheck History Report. It has the 2.2 liter Chrysler-built engine (NOT MITSUBISHI) with the factory Holley 2-barrel carb, and a floor-shifted 3-speed automatic transmission. It is FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. It has 14 inch American Racing wheels with a nice set of Blue Streak H-rated tires. I have used this vehicle for my daily commute to and from work for about 2-1/2 years. I have made about 20 trips to Indianapolis, and 2 trips to Detroit with it in the last year. It has been dependable and low-cost to operate, maintain and insure. I average about 25 miles to the gallon on 87 octane fuel. The following parts have been replaced since I have owned it... Battery, radiator, all 4 tires (80% treadlife remaining), ignition starter switch, L/F cv axle, L/F axle seal, and L/F hub bearing, throttle cable, carburetor overhaul, spark plugs, distributor cap & rotor, ignition wires, belt, wiper blades, 2 motor mounts, air filter, fuel filter, exhaust system from the cat-back, front brake pads and rotors, and rear shocks. I added aftermarket oil pressure and temperature gauges. The previous owner told me the engine had been rebuilt, but I have no paperwork on this. The engine runs well, does not smoke, and uses very little oil between oil changes. I have changed the oil every 3000 miles. The transmission shifts well also. The driver's window regulator gear is stripped- but it still opens and closes with a little effort. The passenger side outside door handle does not work, but the inside handle does. The RF inner tierod steering rack mounting is loose (up and down), but doesn't seem to be affecting the tire wear. These 3 issues have been this way since before I bought it, and since I just used it for a work truck, I never really saw the need to fix them. It has the rare GT Sport package with the hood scoop and fender scoops, and performance axle gear ratio. It has the black corduruoy upholstery with red stripes in the seats. It also has the optional bed rails. The front bumper cover is in near-perfect condition. All glass is good. I am getting married next month and could use the extra cash. We recently bought a Jeep, so I really don't need it for daily use anymore. PLEASE READ: Although this truck is in running condition and is driveable the way it is... THE BODY IS VERY RUSTY BEYOND REPAIR ESPECIALLY IN THE AREAS OF THE REAR QUARTERS, FLOOR PANS, AND UNDER THE BED. THIS VEHICLE WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT DONOR-VEHICLE FOR IT'S GOOD TITLE, SPORT PACKAGE, AND MECHANICAL PARTS. I am close to airport, Amtrak, and Greyhound terminals. Fly-in and drive it home! PAYMENT IN FULL PLEASE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSE.On May-18-10 at 08:07:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Please don't hesitate to ask any questions before bidding- I check my Ebay messages several times a day. Anyone interested in bidding is welcome to come inspect and test drive the vehicle before the auction ends.
