CLASSIC 1971 VOLKSWAGON CONVERTIBLE ORIGINAL MOTOR 31,897 Miles I am offering this wonderful Classic Volkswagon for a dear friend of mine that is in Oxnard California!!! He started restoring this about 2 years ago and it is 90% finished but the economy and health issues have taken a very hard toll on him and his family so now he must offer for sale this beautiful car at way below not only what he has invested in it but also way below what the book value of these very collectible cars are being offered for even in non running condition but this one RUNS!!!!!!! I myself don't know much about cars but as a woman, I DO know what I like and pardon the pun, but this car is as cute as a BUG and if I did'nt already have a car I would love to have one like this as it is just so cute and in this day and age I am told they are GREAT on gas. This would make a wonderful gift for a young girl or even a young man going to college for their first car. I will of course gladly answer any and all question that you may have for this if I can and if it is something that I cannot answer, I will either ask my friend or I will give you his direct phone number so you and he can discuss this car. I have known this owner for a lot of years and I know him to be one of the nicest and most honest men I have ever met and I would trust him with the keys to my home and there is only one other person I can say that about!!!! OK, this is what I know about this wonderful Classic Car............ It is a 1971 with 31,897 original miles and it does have the original motor. It has been stored for the last two years in open storage due to his health. Paint is Good and the Interior and Carpet was installed Brand NEW. Tires are good and the motor Runs good. The restoration needs finishing as you can see from the photos but this car is 90% COMPLETED and he does have all of the parts to finish it with only one exception: The convertible top on these have what is called an "inner liner" and he did not install that nor did he get around to purchasing it so that will need to be done to finish it. It does have a CLEAR California Title. I know he does not want to sell this car as he has a lot of his own money tied up in it but again due to circumstances beyond his control he now has no choice and his loss can be YOUR gain for this beautiful piece of history when Volkswagon bugs were the car of the day for those wanting gas mileage and a reliable Classic Car. He purchased this a little over 3 years ago ot completely restore but now due to personal issues it must be sold. He does not really want to sell this but there sometimes comes circumstances beyond our control and we must do things we would rather not!........................................................This IS an original CALIFORNIA Car, bought in California by the original owner and bought in California by my friend. - This is truly one of those once in a blue moon finds for this price.
