This is a classic 1983 Mercedes 380SL Hardtop/Convertible in near mint condition, always garaged and meticulously maintained. It has cherry red original paint (simply stunning) with chrome spoked wheels and rare gray interior. It has the original small block V-8 engine that is fast, quiet, powerful and, believe it or not, efficient (about 23-24 mpg). It also has the original windshield with the factory Mercedes stickers on it. Both hard and soft top are in like new condition. Everything works. I replaced the exhaust system last year. It has never been in any accident, either major or minor, not so much as a bump! Owner is a nonsmoker. The original books (maintenance and owners manual) go with it. The vehicle sports the wrap-around European version headlights (brighter and much better looking). The original headlights (are in a box) go with it. I know of no other vehicle of this model & year that is in better condition. In “60s” vernacular it would be truly called Cherry! Ownership background: The original owner was a wealthy businessman from Dallas. In 1986 it was purchased by a car fanatic neighbor of mine who owned it from 1987 until I purchased it from him in July of 2002. I am selling only because of serious health issues.
