Vehicle Detail
If you went to college in the 80's you'll remember that the 320i was the "Yuppie" car. Polo shirt collars up, top sider shoes with no socks, Men at Work songs, and a Bimmer 320i ~ there's the definition of a Yuppie. I had a 320i back then and it was the bomb. Girls loved it, college classmates with rich parents loved it, party buddies that wanted to make an entrance at the clubs loved it...those were the days. Then as I set out into the real world that Bimmer had to go. That was 25 years ago. Then in 2004 I set out on a quest to find the perfect 320i for my little collection of cars. It took me over a year to find it...I was amazed at what I found; this car, serial number 1459. It had 51,009 miles on the odometer the day I first met it in Chicago. The original owner put it up for sale, and a friend in Chicago called and told me about it. The owner was a partner in an authorized BMW dealership there in Chicago and had several pristine cars preserved in a warehouse. He was building a fortress on the beach in Maui, and had no need for any of the cars. As you can imagine I paid through the nose to acquire this car. Nonetheless, I hadn't seen anything like it in my year-long search, so I had to have it. Here it is 2010...I've owned the car for 5 years and have put 5000 miles on it. I take it to car shows around the area, and also pull it out every once in a while when I need a "remember the good old days" mental tune-up. I've got too many cars, and too little time to seriously enjoy them. Hence, I might as well try to find someone that appreciates a pristine original 320i museum piece as much as I do. If I'm lucky then the buyer is on eBay and I won't have to take the car to Barrett-Jackson in January. I have the factory books and both sets of keys. I also have the service records. The factory sales broshure also will transfer with the car. 1983 BMW 320i Show Car. Last year of the E21 body style. The car drives perfect. All original paint, all original everything including the stereo. Nothing aftermarket at all on this car. No dings, perfect body. Perfect interior. Tuned to perfection. Fun as heck to drive. 56,579 miles (original and documented) Please call me with any questions. Tom 941.323.7670 I don't know what the real value is of this car except to say it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Certainly can't go by any blue book or comparable sales at any auction anywhere in the world. I researched all the automobile auctions in the world and did not see any 320i listed.
