This is a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500. It is a factory G code, 406 tri power car. It is also a factory 4 speed car. This car is a project, there is no motor or four speed included. This is a very solid, doable project car. The floors and trunk floor are in excellent condition. The rear window area and cowl are solid as can be. The only rust issues I see on this car are the very bottoms of both front fenders, the bottom of the passenger side quarter panel between the door and rear wheel and the external rust on the rear bumper. This car has been off the road and in a barn for many years. I have included a photo of the data plate for those of you interested in decoding to answer your own specific questions. The car currently has an automatic transmission hanging in place that the previous owner installed back in the 70's. As the data plate will show you, and the four speed hump, it is a factory manual car. The car has some dings on the body that are evident in the photos. I see nothing that causes great concern. The dings are in easily workable areas. The car does not have a factory steering column in it, it is out of a later model Ford product but it serves the purpose well enough to steer the car onto a transport truck or trailer. I have no idea the whereabouts of the original engine or transmission, however, I do have a few contacts of people that have engines, carburation and/or transmissions and I will gladly pass this along to the new owner. The rear window is just sitting in place and will be wrapped in a blanket and put on the rear seat for transport purposes. This is the working mans chance at an incredibly rare and unique Galaxie. My reserve on this car is under the $5000 mark so this car is priced to find a new home. Buyer pays for and arranges shipping. I will meet with the shipper on my end to ensure the vehicle is loaded. Payment expected within 10 days of auction end. Vehicle is sold as-is where is.
