It's only original once! Feel free to call Ed Channing at 352-339-6639 11am-11pm EST with any questions, but please use the ebay system to present your offer. Please do not call me asking what it will take to buy the car, thank you. It is with great regret that I offer my beautiful 25th Anniversary Ford Mustang LX 5.0 for auction. I used the car as an occasional weekend toy and probably put less than 1000 miles on it in nearly 7 years of ownership. I am currently out in California, the car is in Florida not being used, so it's time to find it a new home. I took these pics in late August. The car has been in my friend's garage and covered since then, and my nephew drove it 75 miles a few weeks ago without a hitch. This is a rare find as this car has the original paint, interior, driveline and title all intact! It was traded in at a large Toyota dealership by the original owner. I purchased it from them 4-3-03 at dealer's auction and it has been my garage queen ever since. The original title was dealer reassigned so technically you will be the second owner! Although the mileage is exempt from federal law on a car of this age, it is obvious from the condition that the miles are correct. The paint is all original with virtually no rust and very few defects. I did have the black exterior parts professionally redone about 2 years ago. The interior is in excellent original condition as well with no holes or noticeable stains in the seats or carpets, no cracks in the dash, no odors or leaks, and the ashtray lid is intact. The parcel cover is in great shape, as is the leather on the steering wheel. I recently replaced the door seals, window seals, hatch seal, hatch gas struts, headlights and marker lights. This baby is drum tight! The drivetrain is completely stock and original. Nothing has been modified. One look under the hood will confirm that this car is unmolested by a teenager or performance enthusiast. The engine is very strong and smooth, the clutch engages well and transmission's synchronizers function perfectly. The car tracks straight down the road, handles and stops well. Has a set of Yokohama tires that don't have alot of miles on them but they were on there when I got the car. I put a new high efficiency radiator in a couple of years ago and the car runs cool as a cucumber in the sweltering Florida heat. There are three original keys, including the large oval trunk key. In the glovebox is the owner's manual package. Another nice touch for the tall folks out there, I installed a set of Blue Oval driver's seat track extensions which make the car much more comfortable for my 6'3'' self. They can be easily removed if needed. The car is a potential show winner with some minor detailing, it's that nice. But as you might expect with a 20 year old car, there are a few minor cosmetic flaws and a few things that could use some attention at some point. There are a couple of dings on the driver's door and the hood that could easily be fixed by a good paintless dent removal guy. The seam sealer on the inside of the hood and hatch has a few chunks missing and some very minor surface rust in some areas where the sealer is gone. This could be cleaned up and resealed rather easily. The original AM-FM cassette stereo plays nicely but the LED display does not work. The heater core has been bypassed but I have a new one in the box that will come with the car. The A/C worked last time I drove it but it does have a slow leak, so it might need a recharge by now. The original exhaust is shot behind the cats. I will leave it to the new owner to decide whether they want it stock or maybe put on some Flowmasters. The valve cover gaskets leak a little. I have a new set of outer door window moldings that will go with the car, the originals could have been prepped better before they were painted. I'm thinking that the mirror switch might not work right but I might be thinking of another car. YouTube VIDEO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvL_In_Px5E You would be hard pressed to find another original Mustang as nice as this so I will not be giving it away. But the price is reasonable for a car of this quality, so take your best shot!
