Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0. The paint is the original Bimini Blue paint from the factory. It's never been wrecked. I'm the second owner, I've owned it since Feb 1998. Clear title in hand. It had 27k miles when I bought it, currently it has 78,300 miles on it. This only spent a short time as my primary car when I first bought it. It's been babied and well taken care of it's whole life. A lot of the miles come from moving from Utah, to Oklahoma, to Washington, then to California (I'm military). It didn't get driven in the winter time. There's maybe one or two very small dings on the entire car mostly because I always park as far from the front entrance as I can, especially at Walmart! The car came from the factory with moonroof, power windows, power locks, power steering and A/C. At some point I took the A/C off to save weight and run a shorter drive belt. I still have all the A/C stuff in a box that will come with the car along with 2 manuals, a full gasket set (and more), polyurethane motor mounts and a few other items. The car dynos at 444hp with the stock computer. The current setup is good for about 525hp if you get a custom chip burned. I never did because I was always putting new parts on it and since then I haven't had the $400-$500 bucks to do it. It runs great as is and I've never really concerned myself with it. In spite of the power and running a tad rich, it still gets 19mpg around town and a solid 23mpg on the highway. If you've got your foot in it heavy for a full tank of gas you're only going to get about 13mpg but normal driving will get you 18-20mpg. The interior is just amazing. The only flaw is there is a little wear on the lower right driver's seat (see picture) but it still looks very good. Other than that, the carpets look fantastic, no wear or stains. Same with the seats. No cracks in the dash or any fading anywhere. I probably should have vacuumed the carpet before I took pictures but you get the idea. Here's a link to a video I made last year (still sounds and runs the same): I've done a lot of mods to the car over the years so I'll try to give you a good run down by area. MOTOR (probably what you care most about): Paxton Novi 1000 supercharger (10 psi with current pulleys) Cobra Intake GT-40 aluminum heads E-303 cam 70mm throttle body Pro-M 80mm MAF Cobra 1.7 roller rockers Morpheous Power Pipe Bosch bypass valve 30# injectors 190lph fuel pump BBK adjustable fuel regulator Flex fan Crane ignition Ford 8.8 wires EXHAUST: FRPP ceramic stainless steel headers Off road H-pipe Edelbrock RPM cat-back system DRIVETRAIN: 3.73 gears Ford trac-lock Steeda adjustable clutch quadrant, firewall adjuster, and cable B&M Ripper shifter Fidanza aluminum flywheel Kevlar clutch (I forget who made this) SUSPENSION HP Mega-bite Jr lower control arms Steeda upper control arms Polyurethane bushings front and rear MAC 2" lower springs HP full length subframe connectors GR-2 shocks (I think) Cobra polished valve covers EXTERIOR 17" chrome Cobra R wheels 255/40r17 rear and 245/40r17 front Shelby stripes Cobra badges Diamond cut lights on front tinted glass (tint's about due to be replaced, I bought a lifetime warranty when I put it on in 1998. Tell me what state you're in and what tint you want and I can replace it for free) INTERIOR White face gauges and climate controls Kameleon CD player (looks like a radio delete when the car is off) Boost, fuel and air/fuel ratio gauges in pod mounts custom floor mats (grey with blue lettering and the snakes) Is there more? Probably, I've done so much to it I've probably forgotten some parts I've put on over the years. 95% of what I did was between 55k and 65k miles. I know this because that was after it was paid for and the only time frame I had serious money to throw at it. The last thing I did was the flywheel and clutch at 70k right before I moved to California. Didn't need it but I always wanted an aluminum flywheel and a serious clutch. Why I'm selling: First, I've got a bad motorcycle fetish and days when it's nice enough to bring the car out I usually wind up riding a bike. Second, I'm heading off to England in a few months (I'm military) and I don't want to store it for 3 years. It's been a wonderful car over the years and it's never let me down. 12 years is a long time to own a car but I think with my move coming up it's time to let go. Trust me, this has been a very loved and cared for car. It's going to be like losing a member of the family when it's gone. Here's the bad. It's not currently emission legal. All the parts on it except the off road h-pipe are street legal. Not having catalitic converters means it's not legal in states that they check for those things. I'm military and always had my car registered in a county that didn't require emissions so I never worried about it. To get it back to street legal for emissions you'll need a mid pipe with cats (about $450) and hook the emissions back up. I replaced the rear main when I put the clutch in so it's good but the oil pan is leaking some, nothing serious. The paint is 18 years old. Overall it's in amazing shape. The only place that doesn't look good up close are the side moldings, you can tell they're fading when you get up close. The other bad is the hood, it's got some small cracks in the hood from when I had heat problems (see photo). I used to have MAC equal length headers and it got so hot under the hood it left some small cracks in the paint on the hood. Not noticable until you get up close. Last are the stripes, they're quite a few years old and are starting to get a few cracks in them. They look good except in a couple of places when you get up real close. I honestly don't know how to ship cars. I don't know who around here ships. I'm guessing from here to the far side of the country will run about $800 but I don't know. If you want it, come here and drive it home. It's a reliable car and you're not going to have any problems. I've moved half way across the country several times in it and I've never worried about anything. Otherwise, you set up the shipping and I'll help out. I want $1000 deposit within 3 days, non-refundable. The rest is due within 7 days. If you don't contact me or pay the deposit at least within 3 days I'm going to relist it. You're more than welcome to call and ask questions: 8O5-757-7622. You're also welcome to come by and look at it or drive it. I've also got it for sale locally so there's always the posibility the post may disappear without warning if someone names the right price and pays it. 20 April - Slight edit, had to embed videos to comply with E-Bay rules. My bad! Answer to my most common question: Why have I only put 20k miles in the last 10 years? It's been my second car since 1999. I lived in Washington state for six of those years where it never went out in the rain or snow. I deployed overseas 3 times at 180 days per deployment for a total of 1 1/2 years. Then the other 4 years I rode motorcycles on nice days when I moved to California. Second common question: Does it pass emissions? No. Can it? Yes, all the parts on it are emissions legal with the exception of the mid pipe. I've never had it emissions tested so I make no guarantees but it should be a matter of putting on a new mid pipe with catalitic converters. The car is registered in Washington and is current. On Apr-22-10 at 17:56:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I am willing to sell worldwide. You as the buyer are responsible for arrainging shipping and will pay all shipping fees, taxes, duties or anything else. The car is sold as is, I make no claims that it will pass your country's inspection whatever that may be or that it can even be registered in your country. On Apr-25-10 at 01:02:05 PDT, seller added the following information: If you're coming to get the mustang, I would be willing to pick you up at Santa Barbara or Santa Maria. Don't write off taking the bus or train, they're cheaper but take a bit longer. If you're flying in to LAX, give me a call first. I'm also willing to accept Pay pal for the full purchase price if you're shipping. If you buy it, give me a call first. On Apr-25-10 at 01:14:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Just read the autocheck section of my listing. It shows two things: duplicate title and lien. The title is in my name only. I've owned it for 12 years, it's long since been paid for. Duplicate title, yes. I lost my title awhile back and had to get a new one. Absolutely no issues at all, this title supersedes the old one and is clear and valid as before.
