This 1970 Volkswagen Westfalia was purchased new in the California Bay Area, and owned by the same family for over 35 years until it changed ownership approximately 2 years ago. The exterior looks amazing and NEVER been hit, still wearing its original Chianti Red paint, with some INCREDIBLE PATINA. The interior is amazingly clean and original. The bus is really solid throughout. Good news is it’s all original and untouched. The bus runs and drives great. It has been sitting for the last 2 years so it may need servicing, etc., before being driven a long distance. However it drives, stops, and shifts great. The steering wheel is near perfect; all the lights and blinkers work as they should. The front end feels great just like the day it left the factory. All the doors close with one finger. All the body panels and gaps are like the day it left the factory and perfect. The original radio even still powers on. It has (4) brand new Radial tires including a new matching spare tire. It also has (4) new baby moon VW hubcaps. This is a rare opportunity to own a 1970 Volkswagen Westfalia Bus in its original condition. Keep in mind this is NOT a restored bus. This is an absolute time capsule which you rarely see offered for sale. An early Bay Window Westfalia wearing its original L31 Chianti red exterior with the amazing patina it sports today is simply priceless. This is the bus that no money could create. I have not seen another example like this come up for sale in years. Each time I look at these pictures, I cannot believe this bus is 40 years old and unrestored. How many buses have you seen in this condition after 40 years? This 1970 Volkswagen Westfalia is super solid; it has a very straight body for being 40 years old and untouched. It has a few small dings and creases, which can be easily removed if desired. This is what gives it the character it sports today. Again, this is an unrestored vehicle, so it has minor blemishes throughout. There is some fraying on the front seats from the sun. The original poptop canvas will need replacing in the future. The bottom of the rear seat will also need recovering. The muffler should be replaced. Good news is that all the floors, rockers, and doglegs are SOLID and untouched.
