Vehicle Detail
1979 Ford Bronco Ranger 4x4. I did list this truck a couple of month ago and was not going to sell it if it didn't sell but I have decided that it is actually too nice for what I am going to use it for. This truck was very well taken care of by an older gentlemen that was a retired Ford mechanic. It was his baby and I think it shows by the shape the truck is in. I put a class 4 hitch on the bronco with the intentions of pulling my car trailer. I actually did do that and it pulls the trailer nice, not the fastest vehicle while pulling but it does pull it. This truck is under 90,000 original miles and I am guessing even the fuel pump is original on the truck yet. The wires are newer and it has a holley two barrel carb on it now but other then that it is all original. The oil pressure is great. I took it down the free way and it had a vibration in it at 65 miles an hour. The CV joint had some play in it. I took the drive shaft out and had the cv joint rebuilt and the u-joints replaced and all rebalanced and it rides nice down the road now. I also installed a kenwood am/fm cd player in the truck because the old radio the tuner didn't work. I put a set of MTX 6x9 speakers in the rear. I know the truck was painted once for sure and had a new tailgate put on it. The only spot that I really see rust on the truck is above the passenger door on the side of the roof and then on the one quarter panel in front of the rear tire towards the bottom has a bubble. The floor pan on the drivers side had a small hole and the rust was cut out much bigger then the hole and a new replacement patch panel was welded in. You can see these flaws in the pictures. I put a very nice dash pad in the truck as well. The seats are perfect, door panels are nice and this truck had the optional rubber mat. There is factory A/C and everything is there but I have not tried it to see if it works, it has intermittent wipers, factory roll bar and quad shock suspension with the rear sway bar. The shifter is smooth while going down the road and does not vibrate or bounce around. It is very smooth and the seat is like sitting on your living room couch. It is hard to find a bronco this body style that is not all beat up or abused. This never had a lift kit or was beaten. The older man didn't even drive it in the winter. For a truck of this age it is in very nice shape for the area it lived. All the gauges work good including the gas gauge. The one picture of the dash was taken so you could see the oil pressure it stays like that even after up to temperature. This truck has a lot of life left in it. I have decided to sell it and get a newer superduty. For what I use it for I think it will work out better and besides I hate to drive this in the winter next winter. It deserves better. I have my reserve set at $5000 and if I can't get that I will keep it and drive it next winter. This truck is for sale locally so I do reserve the right to end the auction early. It is also sold as is and where it is. May be able to help get it to you if that is arranged in advance. I would not be afraid to drive this truck anywhere. the tires are decent, brakes and exhaust are in good shape. If you have questions please ask. if you have a 99 or newer superduty and would want to work out some type of trade I am listening. I am looking for a supercab 4x4 short box but do not want white, silver, gray or gold. Prefer to not get tan interior. The last picture is of a free wheeling bronco which I believe this one is. If this thing does not sell this time I am planning on ordering a intake, carb, cam, lifters, timing chain and gear, headers and a fuel pump and will keep it.On Apr-20-10 at 06:00:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I lowered the buy it now and the reserve. The reserve is now at $4500 and it will not go down from there. If you want this bronco bid now because when the auction ends if it doesn't sell I will keep it and do my modifications to it. I also have a edlebrock aluminum intake for the truck that will go with it.
