1974 Porsche 914 w/2.0 engine - this car has had the fuel injection replaced with carburetors - starts and runs fine and is a blast to drive, however, it is far from perfect: The Good: Engine is very solid and runs strong New carburetors were installed in 2009 Repaired the odometer sending unit - both odometers work but the trip odometer cannot be reset Pushrod tubes replaced in 2007 Interior is in good shape considering the age of the car All gauges work including the clock Radio works but is not original Replaced the tires with Michelin XWX 185HR15 (four - spare is 165SR15 and has steel wheel) Brakes are in good shape but are probably worn at 60% All the locks work Plenty of heat from the heater No problems with the battery tray All exterior lights work - including fog lamps and turn signals Clutch cable replaced in 2007 The Bad: The driver's seat has a couple of tears about 1" The passenger seat has a cut abut 3-4" The windshield has stone chip on the driver's side Driver's side rearview mirror is not original but works fine Passenger side rearview mirror is missing Interior light does not work - I think it just needs replacement as it worked at one time Windshield washer does not work Engine deck lid latch has broken off - needs to be welded back on and is included Battery is 6 years old and will need replacement Turn signals do not return to neutral position Gas gauge tends to get stuck at 1/4 tank - found out the hard way Transmission will grind going into first and sometimes into second - not sure if adjustment of clutch will fix or if the problem is more serious Paint has a few chips and scratches - previous owner repainted using cheap paint shop so paint is not the greatest True mileage is unknown The Ugly: Rust - the car does have rust problems that I have tried to show in the pictures but does not show very well Rear trunk has quite a bit of rust with some small holes Front trunk has surface rust Rear suspension has rust but I have run the car in a driver's ed at Gateway racetrack with no problems Front left quarter panel has rust in the lower corner Some rust areas at lower windshield This car would make a great daily driver - I have driven it many times to work, 33 miles one way - and have driven it twice to Wisconsin from Saint Louis
