Vehicle Detail

1985 Mondial Quattrovalvole Cabriolet Show Car. U.S. Model delivered new in Texas. Dark Le Mans Blue on Pomata Cream, 17,010 original documented miles. Two previous owners; the first was from February 18, 1986 to August 28, 2003 (7years, 6 months, 10 days). The second owner from September 11, 2003 to present (6 years, 7 months, 1 day). PLEASE NOTE that Auto Check (eBay's Car Fax) states there were 3 owners. Not true, but a dealer handled the exchange between the first and second owner and ran the car's title through their company, and that's how Auto Check thinks it has had 3 owners. We have been recently retained as an agent of the owner who is relinquishing his entire automobile collection due to poor health. This Mondial is part of an amazing collection of classic and exotic cars. The uniqueness of this seller's collection is that each piece has very low miles, in original un-restored condition, and rare color combinations. Each car is maintained by a private manager who exercises the cars and delegates all the maintenance work to various experts around Sarasota. Hence, this Mondial has been impeccably maintained and cared for. Everything on this car works including the air conditioning; all the bulbs, all the sensors, the seats move back and fourth freely, the headlights come up together, etc. No dings or rock chips. The interior is perfect, the driver's seat bolster looks new...no wear at all (the seats are always covered with a cotton sheet even when it's being exersized. No weird noised or rattles. The car drives straight as an arrow when you let go of the steering wheel (no pull to either side). The transmission is smooth ~ all gears are perfect upshift and downshift without needing to blip. There's a perfect purr at 'balance throttle' in this car...no blurbing at the peak of balance throttle. Balance throttle is achieved when the car is moving in gear and the pedal is not pressed or let up so the RPM's stay constant. Yesterday the new factory convertible top was installed. The original top had a small wear mark on the passenger side where the frame pinched the cloth. It would have eventually leaked, so the owner replaced the entire top. A little overboard in my opinion, but the car deserves every little detail to retain the stellar condition throuout. He also replaced the convertible top boot (covers the convertible top when it's folded down) just so it would match in age to the new top. The boot cover has it's own case with a tan leather prancing horse on it (see photo). The car has matching Ferrari luggage which we believe was commissioned by the first owner. I have been selling Ferrari's since 1984 and have never seen a Mondial with luggage. Factory books, factory leather owner's pouch with the prancing horse logo embossed, service records, tool roll (so unused that it still has the factory part-number sticker on it). Original period specific Alpine model 7272 with both manuals. Sound system is completely original with no amplifiers or added speakers ~ works great, but does not hold a candle to the modern systems. Nothing was removed from this car to make it original. The seller tells me that there were no aftermarket anythings when he found the car. The carpet throughout the car is in perfect shape...not even one tiny wear mark anywhere...even near the left foot of the driver. Amazing. The car also comes with a factory cockpit cover that quickly goes on when the top is down ~ it has leather covered bungie cord and leather bendable tabs to hold it down during a storm. Please see the photos of it laid out on the ground next to the car. Clean Carfax ~ please see photos. The car has never been valet parked or lent out to anyone in all the years he's owned it. I'm told by Mondial 'experts' around the country that the 1985 model is the best of the three years ('83, '84, '85) to own because the factory made some beneficial engine changes to the '85 models. There are forums about this QV engine and the impressive changes made in '85.
