In 1976, it was offered as a limited production car, fitting into the price range between the 911 and unarrived 924. The 914 had gone out of production and Porsche needed a middle range model. Only 2099 of them were made. They all had the basic 2.0 Liter, boxer 4 from the 914. The 912 E had Bosch L-jetronic fuel injection, an air pump, and a pair of thermal reactors. Standard was the 911 body, but with unvented brake rotors, and smaller wheels and tires. The options for this 912 E were electric sunroof, headlight washers, limited slip, A/C, fog lights, and remote door mirrors. If you're wondering, the "E" in 912 E stands for "Einspritzung", the German word for "fuel injection" This is a one owner 100% rust free survivor that is being offered at NO RESERVE. This is an original car that looks, runs, and drives extremely well. The engine starts right up and sounds very healthy. There is no leaking, smoking, or strange noises. She looks and runs like it has 1/3 the miles.The brakes, steering, and suspension are all in tip top shape. She handles the road like a dream. Cosmetically the car is stunning. The paint finish is gorgeous and lustrous throughout. The body is solid with no major imperfections. The interior is beautiful. The seats look fantastic. Nice original headliner with working overhead lights.The mechanical, electrical, and climate control systems are all in good working order. The car has a rare power window option. Tidy engine compartment.The dash is near perfect, and has only one tiny imperfection about 1/2 inch. The radio sounds good. The car has never been smoked in and the cigarette light works also. All of the interior gauges work and show normal readings (great oil pressure, runs cool) and illuminate beautifully.
