Vehicle Description Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that...I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honeslty to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to chekc out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2003 Volkswagen Passat GLS. I would rate the exterior of this Passat to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a beautiful Passat. It is finished in dark blue over black leather interior. The blue finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Volkswagen. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the trim and moldings are present and show well. You can see in the photos that there is a fog light grill missing. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in matching rubber with nice tread all around. Please take the time to check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Passat came in. I would also rate the interior of this Passat to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets show well throughout the interior. Both front seats are heated. The leather seats are clean and comfortable throughout the interior. The power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof operate properly. The audio system is the optional Monsoon Premium Sound system, which works properly and sounds good throughout the interior. There are steering wheel audio controls, too. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. It is too cold to confirm that the air conditioner is cooling effectively but the heater works excellently. As with most older Volkswagens, the latch to the glove box is broken. The trunk is spacious and clean. The B5 Passat is a great vehicle. They are ridiculously reliable, very roomy and comfortable and very economical. Mechanically, this Passat appears to be in good running and driving condition. The turbocharged 1.8L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older vehicle. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The turbo spools up quickly and adds noticeable power. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. In fact, the clutch in this Passat is brand new. This Passat is a NEW VOLKSWAGEN TRADE and came in with a slipping clutch. I had the clutch replaced under my ownership and the clutch has maybe 30 miles on it...so you won't have to worry about that for a very long time. Gear changes through the desirable five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. Pride in ownership clearly shows throughout this Passat. At higher mileage, this Passat still looks great, drives great, and feels rock solid. Her previous owner liked it enough to buy another Volkswagen, which says quite a bit. Given the price they probably quoted for a new clutch, trading it off was probably the only way out. Fortunately, I can get parts wholesale and have access to very reasonable labor so it doesn't hurt me nearly as bad to have major services done as it would for you to take it somewhere who charges retail for parts and $100/hr for labor. I typically sell vehicles exactly how they come in, with few exceptions. This is one of those exceptions...only because it is very hard for me to sell a vehicle you cannot drive off in. If you're looking for a clean, well cared for and serviced vehicle...this Passat deserves your serious consideration. It looks good, drives good and will get very impressive fuel economy. Vehicles left longer than 14 days without prior written permission may be assessed a storage fee of $10/ day. Storage fees will be deducted first from any monies paid to Liberty Auto Exchange. Non-Paying Bidders: We take what we do very seriously and ask that potential bidders take placing their bid just as seriously. Non-Paying Bidders will be assessed a re-listing fee of $249. This fee is considered due and payable, without demand, to Liberty Auto Exchange on the 8th day from the end of the auction. Non-Paying Bidders will be reported to eBay, blocked from bidding on future auctions and may be referred to our Collection Agency for credit reporting and fee recovery. Fees and Taxes The only fee we charge is the $149 Administrative Fee that is also disclosed in the first sentence of the written description. Because we sell with NO RESERVE, we have no way to control how much (if any) money we make per vehicle. This fee helps us isolate a few of our fixed, per transaction expenses in a way that is fair to everyone. The winning bidder is responsible for paying all required fees to their respective state of origin.
