Vehicle Description Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that...I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the nearly 80 photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is an exceptionally clean 2004 Volkswagen Passat GLS 4Motion with the desirable 1.8L turbocharged engine. I would rate the exterior of this Passat to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking wagon. It is finished in Gray over Anthracite Leather interior with chrome factory trim, which is a good looking color combination. The Gray finish shines nicely and looks smooth all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this Passat. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the trim and moldings are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in nice rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Passat came in. I would also rate the interior of this Passat to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets are clean and show well throughout the interior. There is some wear visible at the driver's area, which is nothing to fault an older vehicle for. A full set of floor mats are included. The leather seats are clean, comfortable and show minimal wear for their age. Both front seats are heated. The power windows, locks, mirrors, and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good through the factory speakers. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The cargo area is spacious, clean, and comes with a protective liner. The original cargo cover is present. This Passat GLS comes with two keys, the original owner's manual and the original $28,600 window sticker. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Passat wagon. Please take your time and check out the interior photos specifically to see how well loved this Passat is. You can shine up the exterior, but an interior doesn't stay this clean by accident. Mechanically, this Passat appears to be in good running and driving condition. The turbocharged 1.8L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are excellent. In fact, this Passat drove so nice that I ditched my initial plan and decided to drive this Passat when I went on vacation to SC. I've put the last 1,500 miles on this VW with no problems. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking also feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The check engine light was on when this Passat came in. The code is for the secondary air injection fan. Secondary air injection is a little fan that blows exhaust gas (full of unburnt fuel) back into the intake to help the car warm up faster and use less fuel. This little fan runs for roughly a minute after cold start. I drove this Passat GLS 4Motion to Charolette, NC and back (630mi each way) with absolutely no issues. She handled the drive great and is an absolute pleasure to drive. The five speed automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. The 4Motion AWD system is tested and working properly. 4Motion AWD gives this Passat SUV-like capabilities and gives the driver confidence to go where you need to go, regardless of what the weather is doing. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. This is one of the nicest driving Passats I've had, ever. According to markings in the engine bay, the timing belt and water pump have been changed at 110k miles. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Passat. She comes with two keys, owner's book, original window sticker, floor mats, cargo area mat and cargo cover. If you're looking for a rock solid AWD vehicle that is reliable and also gets nearly 30mpg on the highway, this well optioned and well cared for Passat should be at the absolute top of your list.
