Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1995 Mercedes Benz W124 chassis E320 (300TE successor) station wagon with 3rd row seating, black over saffron leather interior riding on H&R springs and AMG Monoblock wheels with Toyo tires. The car just received an alignment and passed VA state inspection in January 2019. I am not a dealer, however I've become a bit of a Mercedes Benz enthusiast after owning this car for a little over two years. I'm selling this car because I just purchased a 2005 E500 station wagon and we don't need two in our family. While I think the W124 wagon is about the best looking wagon made in the last 30 years, I needed something more comfortable and newer to transport my family in. When I purchased the car from a local used car dealer, it would overheat in traffic. I ended up replacing the clutch fan to fix the overheating and then fixed a few things here and there as they surfaced. I've replaced/repaired the following:Front wheel bearingsfront pads and rotorsfront shocksfront shock mountsH&R springsAdjusted rear SLS linkreplaced OVP relayBoth motor mountsneutral safety switchleft and right outer tie rodsdriver's door brakereplaced factory stereo that was inoprepaired cluster backlighting issuereplaced bulb for headlight switch backlightingreplaced coils and spark plugsreplaced coolant expansion tankrepaired stuck sunroof motorreplaced wheels with 17" staggered monoblocksDone before I owned it:Engine harnessHead and head gasket replaced by MBmuffler replacedStill needs:Throttle body (wiring insulation issue so high idle and no cruise)Right seat bottom doesn't adjust up and downRight seat bottom has tear in coverRear glass in liftgate needs R&R with new sealFront guibo flex disc cracking (have part, will include)The car has 197k miles on it and has dents and dings to go along with it. However, when cleaned up it still shines and gets lots of thumbs up and looks. A black S124 lowered a little on monoblocks is about the best looking ride around! Please feel free to reach out with any questions that you have. Know that the car is for sale locally too and if sold that route, the auction will end early. These cars have a common leak issue with the evaporator which is buried in the dash. I haven't confirmed a leak there but I'm also not talented enough to replace it if that is the leak source. It cools me well enough until it gets above 85 degrees outside. Consider this when you bid. Does the car rub? It did rub but the rear fenders were lightly rolled and the front spring pads were replaced with slightly taller pads to raise it up a 1/4". Unless I have extra passenger weight in the car, it doesn't rub any longer. The front right fender made contact with the tire once with 4 passengers entering a driveway that had a steep incline. See the video to get a better glimpse at the fender.
