Vehicle Detail
No Reserve Auction! High bid wins. These E39 wagons are getting harder to find in good condition. I looked for over a year to find this nice 2001 525iT. It looks and drives exceptionally well for an 18 year old car. It's a beautiful color combination - Avus blue with gray interior. I've had it for 2 years now and used it as a daily driver. It's been a great car, but I recently got a different car and the wagon is no longer needed. Exterior The car is very straight and shows no evidence of prior accidents or paint work. I ran a VIN check when I bought it and it showed no accidents. According to the report, the car spent most its life in Arizona and Virginia. It's a rust free car on top and underneath. The paint has it's normal share of chips and scratches and there are a few door dings, but overall very good. The clearcoat on the rear bumper has faded and there is a decent rub/scrape on the left corner of the rear bumper. Interior Overall the interior is very clean. The car has never been smoked in. The leather is in good shape. The driver's seat shows some wear and some thread separation. The driver's floormat is pretty beat, but the others are ok. The carpet and upholstery have some stains, especially in the baggage area. The interior should clean up nicely with a full detail. The ashtray cover is loose and comes off sometimes. The rear hatch struts are weak - sometimes the hatch will stay up and sometimes it won't. The spare tire and tools are good. The rear plastic trim on the hatch is broken and cracked. I'm not sure how anyone actually uses their wagon without this trim breaking. Mechanical The car has relatively low miles (127,867) and drives very well. The tires are Pirelli Cinterato P7 with 20k miles on them. I average 21mpg in a mix of city/highway driving. I've always used Mobil 1 synthetic oil and Mann filters. Oil was changed less that 1000 miles ago. I've stayed on top of the routine maintenance and also addressed many of the common issues with E39 models. All the electronics work as intended. No check engine lights or other warning lights. Here is some of the work done in the past 2 years (20k miles): ABS module repair April 2017 Spark plugs April 2017 New headlight adjusters and bulbs May 2017 Valve cover gasket Feb 2018 MAF sensor Feb 2018 Rear brake rotors and pads April 2018 Complete front suspension overhaul including Bilstein touring struts, strut mounts, control arms, tie rods, etc. April 2018 Any shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer, but I will work with your shipping company to schedule pick up. If you have additional questions about the car, please email me or contact me by phone at 913-486-9405. This is a No Reserve auction and the high bidder takes the car.
