This is a very clean 1979 toyota fj40. It was the first year the power steering was a factory option and this example has that option which works perfectly. This has the factory 2f engine with the factory h42 4 speed transmission that shifts nice and smooth. The engine runs extremely smooth and pulls as it would have new. The differentials are the factory 3.7 for this year. It also has factory front disk brakes that stop great. This vehicle was completely strip down to the chassis and the body was soda blasted and completely re-spayed professionally. There was no bondo used. You can still see all the factory spot welds like you should in these vehicles. When it was re assembled all the weather stripping/ gaskets were replaces with factory original new ones. There are no tears or leaks in any of them. This fj40 has been stored indoors since it was restored and gets driven once a month on nice days. The hard top is removable but has never been pulled back off after the restoration. the seats are all original and have never been recovered. As you can see in the photos they look really good. The rear jump seats fold up and down. All of the doors open and shut really smooth. The wheels are factory new with original new hub caps. The tires are also new. These fj40s are getting harder and harder to find nice clean examples as so many of them where used as offroad vehicle because they were so great at it. We believe this one was never used Offroad. This fj40 grabs attention everywhere it goes.
