Vehicle Detail
1995 Land Rover Range Rover Classic 4.2L V8 Long Wheel Base(LWB) with 116,069 miles. Classic Ardennes Green with Sorrell Beige interior. Car runs/drives great. Mechanically sound, a great candidate for paint/minor restoration. Bumpers and trim are in good shape. The interior carpet and seats are in great shape for their age except for front seat bottom's which need refinishing. It has been converted to springs with Bilstein HD shocks and drives as well as any classic land rover can. There is little to no rust visible on the underside except for driver's side rear mudflap(replaceable). There is some minor surface rust visible in driver's footwell but that is all I can see. A solid truck, mechanically sound, drives great, needs some interior/exterior TLC. I have owned the car for about 5 years. I bought it from a family that had the car in storage for a decade and have gone through it as problems arise. We love the car and it was a great extra car for us in Chicago but we also have a 1997 Vitesse here in New England so we don't need both. The car is currently located in Weston, MA about 20 minutes from downtown Boston. Sunroof, All lights and electrical work except for rear windows which work only on front switches but they go up and down no problem. A/C blows cold. Steering and suspension are tight and have been recently serviced with many replacement parts. In the last few years we have spent about $4K on the car including new intake gaskets, battery, valve cover gaskets, various hoses, injector o-rings, new tires all around, new steering arm, stabilizer shocks, bushings, fuel gauge sending unit/pump, and more. Receipts from two prominent rover specialty shops are available (J. White Framingham, MA and Highgate Motors in Barrington, IL). Again, this is really a strong original car that needs cosmetic TLC. Cosmetically, it has some dents and the paint is not consistent. It was sprayed over in places along the rear quarters by the previous owner who said it was scratched. What it needs to be perfect: Missing one front crush can cap (unique to 1995), headliner beginning to sag as shown, plastic trim around stereo and gauge cluster are both cracked but fine, front seat bottoms should be refinished, Temp gauge recently went out so I am guessing it needs a new thermostat or contacts cleaned. The upper tailgate only latches on one side so it probably should be replaced at some point, and while both power seats work, the driver's side just stopped reclining (You can still hear motor). Power seat functions work otherwise. Again, most of the work is cosmetic. It is a very reliable, original, great driving truck. Good luck and please feel free to email with questions!
