No reserve auction. The bike will sell to the highest bidder. Up for grabs is my 1983 BMW R80G/S It is available to view this weekend at Butterscotch LBC in Long Beach, California. This 1983 BMW R80G/S is powered by an air-cooled 1000cc boxer-twin paired with a 5-speed transmission. The matching numbers case has had the displacement upgraded to 1000cc. The bike is largely stock and is reported to have been recently serviced with fresh fluids and a front end rebuild. This R80G/S is now offered with a tool kit, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name. The bike has undergone a sympathetic cosmetic restoration, all original fasteners and hardware have been zinc plated, the tank has had a professional color correction and buffed to an as new shine. The solo seat is new as of September of this year. The air-cooled 800cc boxer-twin was originally rated at 50 horsepower and features dual 32mm Bing carburetors. After the upgrade to 1000cc, power is rated at 60 horsepower and transferred to the rear wheel through a 5-speed transmission and shaft drive. A recent service reportedly included carburetors re-jetted, tuned and synchronization, as well as fresh oil in the crankcase, transmission, and final drive. Factory-applied decals are still present and the original tool kit, tire pump are included. Dealer service receipts will be provided dating back to 1996. Clear California title in my name.
