We have owned this 1955 Country Squire for 11 years. Living close to the beach in Southern California, we used the car for years as transport to the beach and back, and around town. It's a real head turner, always attracting a lot of attention wherever we go. The car is very much original. There has been some re-chroming where necessary, and the car was repainted the beautiful red when purchased 11 years ago. All trim is original except for the front grill (3 years ago), the "moon" hubcaps, and the interior door sill trim. The engine was recently refreshed with a new carburetor, starter and battery. At the same time we replaced the front windshield. The car runs very well and shifts easily with a 3-speed manual transmission. The new interior was fitted 8 years ago, and covered with seat covers to maintain it's new appearance. Overall the appearance of the car is excellent as shown in the pictures. However, there are some minor issues that should be noted. The heater is not connected, and the radio was disconnected 3 years ago due to sound quality. The driver side front door needs firm pressure to close. The passenger side front vent window knob recently broke, a replacement knob has been ordered. The steering wheel horn ring and a number of the interior door handles have some pitting on the chrome. Overall, the exterior chrome is very good to excellent, however, the front bumper guards, and the rear bumper and bumper guards, have some tarnish. It is our hope that whoever buys the car will enjoy it as much as we have for the last 11years.
