Vehicle Detail

2005 Subaru Impreza WRX Five Door Wagon Engine Type/Size: 2.0 Liter H4 with TD-04 Turbo Transmission: Five Speed Manual Color: Crystal Gray Metallic Body: Bought in San Diego California in 2012 and driven to Georgia in 2016. Presently, it has 178000 miles, and in good condition excepting a few minor flaws, small stone chips, etc.. typical for the mileage. Abrasion on underside front bumper, which is mostly obscured by aftermarket black lip. Pencil eraser sized chip of paint missing from driver side rear door. Slight defect on tailgate from poor repair completed during the car's previous ownership.Paint could be rated as 7/10 due to the above mentioned flaws. Solid otherwise with no rattles or squeaks. Wheels have been spay-painted black about three years ago, and paint could be rated at 5/10. Tires still have several thousand miles of tread left, but will need replacing in the not too distant future. Front brakes will need changing sooner rather than later. They still have plenty of stopping power, but are beginning to shudder a bit when decelerating quickly. All glass is solid, with no nicks or cracks. Some aftermarket installations completed. Hood scoop replaced by much larger '05 STI scoop. Before installation, the new scoop was color matched crystal gray metallic. Rally Sport mud flaps have been installed on. Flaps are in perfect shape. Inno square railed rack and cage box style Cole roof box with wind fairing system included. Wind fairing is plastered with various stickers, but these may be easily removed. The same applies to stickers on three of the windows. The car shows very well overall and a good cosmetic detailing would do wonders for it. Interior: Interior is in great condition, and has no tears or chunks missing. There is one smudge of white paint about three inches long on the passenger side front seat bucket. This was present when I purchased the car. Back seat cup holder swivel arm is broken, but all pieces are present. I recently received a recall for passenger side airbag that Subaru will fix for free. Headliner has a few light marks, but is in great condition. Headliner does not sag in the slightest. Center console was removed about three years ago and painted black. Paint is still in good condition. 9/10. OEM six CD changer was removed during this time and replaced with a JVC head unit, equipped with CD, Bluetooth, AUX, Pandora, I Heart Radio, USB, Programmable Tuner, and hands free calling. Hands free calling made possible via an oscillating microphone mounted to the left of driver side sun visor. The microphone's cable has been tucked and hidden behind the driver's side A-frame. OEM steering wheel with thirteen years worth of abrasion. Nothing thrilling, but it feels great so I never changed it. OEM shifter knob was replaced about three years ago with Cobb gloss black ball-top with red/silver collar. Shifter boot was replaced at this time as well. All four original WRX floor mats are included, and are in good driver condition. OEM retractable sun shade is included for cargo hatch, and spare tire plus OEM jack are present. Air blows cold and heat will melt your face, and all gauges, pedals, signals and accessories are in perfect working order, including the rare manual cruise control. Perfect for a long trip. Engine: Engine is H4 and NEW. Engine was just replaced a few months ago after discovering a warped deck surface . Due to this, the car has a brand new short block with new rotating assembly. This is how much I did NOT want to sell this car. At this time, the car got a new timing set, new clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing.. The OEM air intake was replaced with Subaru Performance Tuning cold air intake. Cone has been removed and cleaned on a periodic schedule or when deemed necessary. OEM TD-04 turbo was replaced about two years ago and upgraded to new TD-04 with polished internals and aluminum billet wheel for increased performance and sound. Turbo Smart blow off valve installed about two years ago, containing blue polished body and adjustment screw to toggle between 100% recirculation, 100% exhaust or any mixture in between. The transmission is completely stock, but shifts strong with no shuddering or slipping whatsoever. The exhaust has been replaced and catless all the way back. Invidia 3" catless up-pipe, Perrin catless down-pipe, and Cobb catback with cat removed prior to installing. (I may be mixing up the brands of some of these parts, especially the catback and downpipe, but this shouldn't be too hard to research.) Don't worry, the mixing of parts was alleviated by a masterful welder in San Diego, so there is no vacuum leak, shift, sway or knocking due to the exhaust. The car was subjected to a full smoke test after the most recent of these parts was installed, and passed with flying colors. Everything is tight. There are not many negatives but here is a very minimal leak in the passenger side axle boot, that will need to be addressed at some point. See the attached invoice that mentions this. Finally, the car will come with a married Cobb Access Port V2. The port contains various tuning maps for a variety of eclectic driving situations, but at the moment it is custom tuned via mailed stage 2 map directly from Cobb, and then tweaked by the mechanic that installed the BOV and then performed the smoke check. I have records and receipts for about 90% of the aformentioned work, so everything is in order. It is painful to write this, because it is literally the most fun and attractive car I have ever owned. I do not want to let it go, but life is an enigmatic thing and full of surprises. I cannot afford to keep her, so I hope to barter with a passionate car lover like myself. Thanks for reading.
