I've owned it for almost 3 years and 25,000 miles and it has never broken down or stranded us. Mechanicals: VERY good engine, quieter and smoother than the other 3 I've owned. Does NOT knock, tap, smoke, or use oil. Quiets right down on startup..many 4.7s have a nasty startup: this one does not! Transmission is strong and benefits from $750 in recent work; NEW not remanufactured Mopar OEM Solenoid Pack, both filters, new fluid and new seal. Shifts great! NO check engine or other warning lights on or pendingSuspension is TIGHT with the right ride quality and does have the optional Up Country off road suspension group which includes 1.5'' higher ride height, strong skid plates for the engine, transfer case, and fuel tank, and last but not least LIMITED SLIP FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIALS (HUGE if you plan to do serious off roading), chrome tow hooks, and more aggressive suspension tuning that maintains a supple rideFront and rear differentials, a common problem area, are fine hereAnother common problem area is hopping around in tight turns, this one turns quietly and flatly even with the steering wheel locked Brakes are goodTires are good, previous owner put 5 Goodyears on at the same time. This Jeep was NOT cheaply maintained by the previous, original owner and not by me!Recent rebuilt starter, Optima Red Top battery, air filter, light bulbs, and taillight socket NEW USA made oil pressure switch, the stock ones are prone to leaks and did so now the leak should be fixed!Brand new oil change with OEM Mopar filter I looked on and off for years to find one in this kind of condition. Most of these are long gone and the ones that remain are usually full of expensive issues, high mileage, or have led very hard lives. This one is different: 2 owner, SOUTHERN Jeep VA and NCNO accidents and NO paintwork, perfectly straight bodyNO rust that would EVER matter. I am very particular about rust and checked underneath at length at purchase and occasionally to ensure condition Original black paint shines nicely as seen. NO paint fade or clear coat peeling anywhere! Leather seats are very nice with no rips or stains Beautiful interior in very good condition as wellJust 141,709 original miles. Most of these are pushing or over 200k. This one will last years longer than those.No scratches or dings worth talking aboutHeat and AC work great and all directions (defrost, floor, face and combination) work perfect - issues here are common and expensive with WJ Grand Cherokees but not here! Being a 2001, it does have some things of mention.Trunk stays up on its own when it's warm, but not when cold. Neither does the hood. This always happens and props work fineThe tweeters (tiny speakers towards the windshield) break up at the highest bass levels, but sound very nice otherwise. Again, commonRear differential does seep a bit of fluid. Easily checked and added and fixed, it's so minor I only had to check and add once in a year. Try to find a Jeep that doesn't :)Heated seats could be warmerThere are 3 pictures of it that show some dirt, I figured you'd like to see what it looks like unwashed so there it is. These just don't come around in this condition with this pedigree! Clean and clear NC title in my name ready to go, no excuses or delays! I will continue to refine this Jeep and make it nicer. The more I do, the price will go up since it is as rare as it is with the 1 year only package and the condition is what it is it becomes a unicorn Jeep of sorts that commands its own value.
