Vehicle Description Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2005 BMW 525i. I would rate the exterior of this BMW to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking sedan. It is finished in Orient Blue over Tan leather interior, which is a good looking color combination. The dark blue finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass for the most part. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mielage. On this specific BMW, the finish is faded a little on the front bumper. Additionally, there is a light scrape down the right side of the vehicle and some minor cosmetic damage to the right lower rocker trim piece. If you look closely, you should be able to see all of this in the photos. The body lines are all nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The headlight lenses show some normal hazing, but the optional xenon HID headlights still light up the road nicely at night. The factory alloy wheels show well and are are wrapped in nice rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would also rate the interior of this BMW to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. As you can see, the map pocket is missing from the driver's door. I do have the missing piece and it looks like you should be able to re-attach it. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. The leather seats are clean, comfortable and show virtually no wear. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The steering wheel is heated, too...which is heaven in the winter. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good through the factory speakers. There are steering wheel audio controls, too. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent temperature settings for both the driver and passenger. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The trunk is spacious, clean and includes the original tool and First Aid kits. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this BMW appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.5L inline six cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older vehicle. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. You can feel some play in the front control arm bushings over rough surfaces and you can also feel it some at highway speeds. Steering and braking feel good. The engine keeps proper temperature and feels smooth. It is important to note that this car has BRAND NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTERS. This is a common issue with these vehicles and is a very, very expensive service. To take one of these cars to a garage and have this done would probably cost you about $2,000...probably double that at a BMW dealer. This car now drives perfectly smooth, as it should. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight. My only complaint would be the aforementioned worn front bushings. Those are pretty cheap to do on these and anywhere can do it. You don't need a BMW expert. If you're in the market for an E60 car, this Orient Blue 525i deserves a close look. There are probably nicer ones out there, but the catalytic converters are a HUGE deal...and it's a common thing. I've had to do them on more than one of these.
