1972 Chevy Chevelle SS - A true J code SS built at the Arlington, TX plant in October of 1971. A west coast car, this Chevelle still has most of its original undercoating and is a fine, rust free example that has super straight lines and no body work. This Chevelle has had one repaint of the factory original color - paint code 53 - Placer Gold. This Chevelle started its life as a J code SS with a small block 350 V8 4bbl with a 12 Bolt rear end and 2.73 gears. It has a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 transmission with F41 suspension. It was a factory air condition car with bucket seats and a center console with the horseshoe shifter. Today, this Chevelle now boasts a big block 454 V8 with a Holley 750 cfm 4bbl sending those horses to the original 12 bolt rear end upgraded with posi-track 3.31 gears. I will address a few questions: This Chevelle shows extremely well, however, she is not flawless. The paint is deep and shines nicely, but she has been driven. There is one area on the hood about an inch in length that the next owner may want to have corrected. I will get an additional picture posted. It is within one of the stripes on the hood. The stripes are painted and under the clear coat. The car runs very smooth and the aluminum radiator and dual electric fans do an outstanding job keeping the operating temps low. I’ve driven the car in temperatures up to 100 degrees in Texas and the water temp stays in the 180 to 190 range. She runs best with 91 or 93 octane. Chassis and floor pans/trunk pan are solid with no rust. No patches, no repairs. Solid car. Original sheet metal, original chrome bumpers, original glass throughout car. The factory AC and heater have been removed.
