Vehicle Detail
I bought this car in March 2018 on eBay from a dealer in Jacksonville. He assured me that it was a good clean car and it truly is. I have driven about a thousand miles in it including a trip down to Miami and it drives beautifully, just like a 'real' Mercedes should. It is quiet and holds the road very well. You can tell its an older car as the steering is a little firmer than a modern car but it tracks cleanly and the engine runs very smooth. The dealer told me that he had put a new exhaust and battery on the car and, other than using a bit of oil on a long fast run on the freeway, it goes perfectly. The a/c works well and even in central Florida in the summer it has kept me cool. I fitted a new stereo with CD and bluetooth and new speakers, but have the original Becker unit (worth something on it's own) in the trunk. Faults: a few small scratches on the bodywork (although no rust I have noticed), it uses a tiny bit of oil (after a fast run to Miami and back I put in a pint and a half). The odometer stopped working when I pushed the trip reset in, which apparently is a fault on these - I had the same on my old BMW motorcycle and a knowledgeable friend said it's the plastic gears that mis-align. Other than that everything seems to work, all electric seats, mirrors and even the electric headrest adjusters! Just remember she's a old girl and drive her that way and she'll go for ever. I have been posted abroad so have to sell, hoping she finds a nice new owner. Call me with questions, the car is viewable in Orlando, Fl.
