Vehicle Detail
Hi, I'm Rick. I'm back in college mid-life and selling my truck to cover tuition and bills. It's got 80k miles, but will have a little more because I use it to get to class until replaced with a beater. I'm the second owner of this Tacoma and bought it from the same dealership that it originated from. The guy came in for its first oil change and traded up instead. I nabbed it from the back lot before it was prepped for resale, so I can testify that it's had full synthetic oil with the Lucas synthetic additive for the entire life of the engine post break-in. It was just detailed Sunday 9/23 but was too late for pictures, so I'll be adding a full picture set this week. I was a transport broker prior to going back to school, so I can help you arrange transport if needed. Basically, you can have any car or small truck trailered across the country for $700-$950 through uShip and I know the process like the back of my hand. eBay might already offer an AutoCheck VIN report for free, but if not just send a request to rleniek@gmail.com Besides cosmetic blemishes that I will take pictures of, the only problem is with the stereo head unit volume knob and cd player. I just play music on my phone through the auxilary input and control the volume on the steering wheel or phone. It sounds really good and has way better bass and overall sound than you'd expect from a stock system. Some really cool features include a bed-mounted 110v outlet that comes in super-handy for inflating beach/river toys. You can throw it into 4-wheel drive while going up to 60mph and this truck has an amazing traction control system that prevents you from losing control if a wheel breaks loose on water, ice or gravel. It also has a limited slip differential that I've never had to use. The cruise control makes it pleasure to drive long distances. (A great tip I learned is if you drop the tailgate, it tracks better on the highway and gets better gas mileage. Try it) This truck will be listed locally, so I reserve the right to cancel this auction at anytime if I find a local buyer. On Sep-27-18 at 07:22:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Here are some additional features about this truck:* Rear view mirror automatically blocks out headlight glare.* Backup camera makes hitching to a trailer super easy. * Virtually maintenance free except for oil changes every 5,000 miles. It was changed 250 miles ago and I saved the filter in case you want it analyzed. * Cargo rings can be re-positioned along the bed-mounted rail system* Includes all bed accessories pictured - heavy rubber bed mat (a must have), load bar, 2" ball & mount, 7 blade to 4 flat trailer lights adapter, misc cargo straps.* Fog lights / 18mpg / No Accidents / No Pets / Non Smoker / No foul odors or stains.* Clean title in hand - I'm just a dude, not a dealer... I'll just sign it over without any doc/prep fees.* Everything original except new tires 16,000 miles ago, front bake pads 800 miles ago, reusable K&N air filter, platinum 4-electrode spark plugs, headlights, OEM floormats & lockable tailgate handle* All pictures taken this week. Fresh coat of carnuba wax applied. Any surface rust and paint scratches have been repaired or sealed from further expansion. Undercarriage is solid.* The next owner doesn't need to do anything until the next oil change. All originals manuals included. For sale locally at $20,000 but this area is a little depressed right now. I live a mile from the dealership of origin... it closed and moved a couple months ago.On Sep-27-18 at 11:34:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Shipping from: 105 Forrest Ave, Cocoa, FL 32922 You can usually get a better rate if you cut all the middlemen and escrow services out and agree to pay the driver directly COD rather than the money being held by a third party. I am available to meet your hired driver anytime within short notice and there are no hindrances to the loading area. I will perform a video walk-around and take a snapshot of the mileage prior to loading. Of course it runs, drives and brakes perfectly... they'll want to know this. -Rick On Sep-27-18 at 13:07:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I've reached the picture limit, so please send an email to rleniek@gmail.com to request additional pictures of anything specific. On Sep-28-18 at 03:40:33 PDT, seller added the following information: If you win this Tacoma and must arrange for it to be picked up by an auto transporter, funds transfer must be complete prior to release to your driver. I'll be sure to get a picture of his license, plate and vehicle prior to handing him the keys and signed title. Once your funds are received, at that point it is yours and I will immediately stop driving the truck and park it. NOTE: the $500 paypal deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. This is a warning to tire-kickers and looky-loos... if you win and back out I keep your deposit and offer it to the next highest bidder at his/her bid amount. Same applies for the deposit. If you fail to make the deposit within 24hrs, next highest bidder gets the Tacoma. This should make it a clean, fun and fair auction for us all. One of the many reasons I wanted this truck was because of its history of retaining it's value better than any other. By putting it here on eBay for 1 penny without reserve, we get to see the extent of how true this is, or not :) Happy bidding! On Sep-29-18 at 17:05:56 PDT, seller added the following information: There was originally a large piece of plastic trim behind the seats that prevented storage of long stuff like a rifle, fishing pole, umbrella, etc. I took it out when I first bought the truck and long since forgot. I don't have it anymore. My plan was to tack up some auto cloth but found it easier to wipe down rather than vacuum. The cab walls are encased in good soundproofing, so the thin plastic had no effect on interior noise that could tell. Basically, anything that I wanted to store from open view went back there. It's deep enough to fit a couple desktop computers which I did many times when travelling for work. The trim could only fit a few jugs of milk and a flashlight, but the worst part was that it would all slide laterally and make a crashing noises every time I took a turn. It's for the better, trust me :)On Sep-30-18 at 03:03:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to make a correction and comment on the one and only thing I don't think Toyota thought through on this truck. I totally forgot until someone asked about the plastic trim behind the back seat. First, the correction is that soundproofing isn't on the back wall, but the floors. I see it every time I go back there and was in mind when typing, but can't go back and make corrections after posting. Point is that the plastic made no noticeable difference in cab noise. Part of the reason why I removed it also brought up the only issue I ever had with the truck's utility... the use of plastic in the cargo storage areas in general. I can see the advantages of being lighter, rustproof and easy to clean BUT unless you place slip-proof material on the surface, everything takes off like a rocket laterally whenever you make a turn. For the truck bed, an aftermarket OEM heavy rubber mat has kept everything put. For the space behind the back seat, I simply took out the plastic and let the cargo sit on the soundproof panels which have good grip. And finally for the flat surface of the rear seats folded down, I'd roll out a slip-proof area rug mat. I'd rather tell you now than let you find out the hard way. The back seat is actually the best place to bring the groceries home. In addition to being cushioned, the fabric is textured to have good traction. This is the sorta stuff you'd only know as an owner and then have to come up with solutions on your own.
