Vehicle Detail

Built date, 8/1970 and the Engine number is: CB750E1051618 A beautiful 1971 CB 750 purchased new in Oakland California in Spring of 1971 from Nelson Brothers Honda, License holder still on the bike. Nothing has been modified, never been restored, original paint. Never been in an accident. Has been unused since 1983 when my elderly neighbor bought a New Honda V65 at Nelson Brothers Honda in 1983. I wanted to buy it from him for the last 34 years. He passed away last November, and the estate, daughter, sold it to me. The carburetors, exhaust original HM300, seat, nothing has ever been removed, every nut and washer is the original on this bike. Clean California title now in my name. The only change was he added factory crash bars at the dealership when he purchased the bike, and had them put a finned point cover on, this was the big fad in 1969-1971. It is not perfect looking, mild surface rust, mostly on the original HM mirrors. A great ride without any issues. Excellent power and acceleration. Clutch and all gears work smoothly, as do the gauges. Fully original with the exception of the Master cylinder, part of my bringing her back to life, I replaced it, the original goes with the bike. Even the tires are original Dunlop Roadmasters, heavily cracked and worn but still holds air. If not for the tires I would feel comfortable driving this across the country, that dependable! Tool kit is complete and looks unused, plastic holding bag has some holes. Suspension and brakes work well and smoothly. He was a meticulous owner, followed the owners manual (which comes with the bike) perfectly, having the Honda Dealership maintain it on a regular schedule. He was not very mechanically inclined, he was an accountant, who loved the big bikes! Since I made her road ready again, I have driven it 184 miles, I would have driven a lot more if it were not for the condition of the tires. Does not leak any oil, and does not smoke at all, and the sound is great. Side story/s, in 1983, he, my neighbor, took it in to Nelson Brothers Honda, for its regular service, fell in love with the new Honda V65 VF1100's and bought their first one right off the floor, parked the Honda Four in his garage, and never drove it again. I also ended up buying the V65 which has been sold already, the CB750 is a much nicer bike to ride and handle in my opinion. I have been riding for over 55 years, mostly old, (69&70) Triumph Bonneville's, after riding this machine I can understand why the CB750 killed the British bikes. The power, the smoothness, and the handling is by far the best ride I have ever ridden, and this is with the poor quality tires! Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, however I will assist as needed. What I have done to make it rode ready after receiving it, in order: BEFORE STARTING THE BIKE Cleaned all fuel lines and tank, tank had little to NO inside rust. changed Oil and filter flushed and added Seaform Lubricated cylinders, not stuck or frozen, just wanted add care before moving the pistons. Cleaned air cleaner rebuilt front brake caliber and flushed brake line and replace with OEM pads. Replaced Master cylinder, having the original to go with the bike replaced all 4 plugs cleaned all fuel bowls, did not remove the carbs. replaced battery replaced clutch cable AFTER STARTING THE BIKE Drove for ten miles Repeated- changed oil and filter flushed again. After 100 miles flushed oil and changed filter again. Flushed and refilled the fork oil. Negatives: Old original tires, hold air rides ok but will need replacing due to cracking some surface rust, mirrors and clutch cover are the worst, see pictures for the worst ares. Most of the rust on the bike for some reason is on the original mirrors, mufflers and headers are in great shape, little to no rust. Small soft dent in tank please see picture with finger pointing to it. Speedometer face faded and surface cracking, funny the Tachometer is fine. Tool kit bag, has a few small holes. This is a great riding bike as is, (except for the tires), would be an easy restoration for someone since it is all there and all original and unmolested. Call for any additional information 510-684-7638 I have video's of it running, I was not able to post them to this Ebay post, if you send me your email, I can send you the video and sound. Thank you for looking. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT PLANNING ON BUYING!
