Vehicle Detail
Below is an accurate and as complete description as possible of the components for what I am offering: EXTERIORVehicle has NEVER been in a collision of any type. As such, all body parts, except for trunk door, are intact and undented. Hood and roof have surface rust, but not all the way through. Bumpers and grill are in good shape, as are all lights and lenses. Same with running boards. Trunk door was damaged, as was rear windshield wiper, when a pallet jack loaded with bananas fell onto it (long story). None of the windows are cracked. Rear windows are tinted. ALL wheels and rims are in good shape, with plenty of life to them. Windshield wipers (and their motors) work just fine. INTERIORDriver's seat, console, and steering wheel are rough. Passenger and rear seats are in good shape. Driver's seat motor to adjust height and distance to dash works just fine. All dash components work well, including stereo with cd player. 3 of 4 automatic window motors work well - passenger side window motor binds up a bit. Motor for passenger side exterior mirror works, Driver's side mirror motor does NOT work after a tree limb fell on it during a storm. AIR CONDITIONINGA/C, heat and defrost blows at all speeds. A/C does NOT deliver cool air all the time. It will blow cold for a few minutes, then after being shut off for a few minutes, will blow cold again. Repeat... ENGINEAs stated above, this vehicle was running right up until she wasn't anymore. To be candid, I was told by my mechanic to not put any more money into it 2 1/2 years ago, so I have been nursing it since then trying to reach 200,000 on the odometer - no such luck. Anyway, the engine was getting louder until it died. With nearly 200,000 miles on it, this Explorer has given me way more than I deserved. In terms of individual engine components, I am not much of a mechanic so can't guarantee anything on them, except the starter, alternator, clutch, and other components worked just fine. Transmission - as stated, it was running right up until the end, and easily drove at 70 mph, so there is that. BRAKESThey have been working just fine, though brake pads are likely worn down by now. As stated, this auction is for a 1998 Ford Explorer, AS-IS, with no guarantee whatsoever that it is running condition. In fact, it is NOT currently running and I offer this vehicle for purchase as a possible restoration project or for someone to part out. Purchaser needs to pick this Explorer up at my house in west St. Petersburg and Purchaser is responsible for arranging towing it away. I can arrange my schedule to be available at virtually anytime Purchase wants to pick this up. Buy with confidence - I am proud of my perfect rankings and intend to keep up that status. Thanks for looking and bidding.
