For sale is my BMW 750 vintage racer. It is based on a 1971 R 75/5. This machine has an interesting history but unfortunately I have struggled to find the past owner/racer. I do know that it was raced out of south Florida and I have photos of it at Road Atlanta, Moroso Motorsports Park (Palm Beach International Raceway) and Daytona. I also have a photo booklet of some photos of the machine and of it in action in what appears to be AHRMA and CCS racing circa 1980-1990. The photos taken in my garage are current photos. The low resolution photo print scans are from the photo album of the machine as raced in period. I purchased it from a gentleman from south Florida who was administering an estate. He was unable to provide any historical information to me at the time of the sale. I bought the machine with the intent to perform what I view as a simple restoration. The machine has aged well, with only minor surface rust on some hardware and some mild oxidation. I was told it was in the owner’s living room since the 1990s. The engine turns over freely and it would not take much to hear her run. The engine that is in the bike I was told has been race prepared and has Dell ‘Orto carburetors. The engine is not numbers matching to the frame but I do have the original block that is numbers matching if for some reason one desired to convert back to that engine. That original numbers matching engine block is included in the sale. I have a bill of sale as this is and has only been a race bike. I feel it would be quite easy to obtain a title for it due to its age if one desired to convert it to a street bike again. I have two spare wheels that are included in the sale for the winning bidder. I am a lifelong BMW boxer fanatic and car nut. I am a mid-50s professional who is working way too many seven day per week stints, week after week. I just don’t have time to enjoy them all and they need to go on to the next steward.
