Vehicle Description Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the nearly 70 photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta GLX VR6 with the desirable 5 speed manual transmission. I would rate the exterior of this Jetta to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. This is a good looking sedan, overall. It is finished in green over tan leather interior. The green finish shines nicely for its age and looks smooth all around. There is some clear coat missing on the roof in front of the sunroof so please be sure to look at the photos carefully. The body lines are nice and straight. The windshield has a small crack in it on the passenger's side. All the rest of the glass and lenses are intact. All of the trim and moldings are present and show well. The plastic grill insert is loose, but it just looks to be a missing screw. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in nice rubber with average tread all around. The only other thing worth noting about the body is that the trunk will not latch. The latch and the pin seem to be not lined up properly. I would also rate the interior of this Passat to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well for their age and are not excessively worn. As with pretty much every MK4, the headliner is sagging. The tan leather seats are clean, comfortable and show very well for their age. Both front seats are heated, too. The power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The heater works well but I believe the air conditioner will need charged or serviced as I do not believe it is blowing cold. The trunk is spacious and clean, too. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this Jetta GLX appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 2.8L narrow angle V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older car. The suspension feels okay. There is some wear evident in the front bushings, but nothing bad. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The VR6 engine is smooth and has plenty of power. It was pouring raining when I road tested this Jetta so I couldn't really open it up...but she felt strong. The check engine light is on. There were codes for the crank position sensor and catalyst efficiency. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the desirable five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. The steering wheel is off a few degrees, but the car drives smoothly and tracks perfectly straight on the highway...so you probably just need to have an alignment done to correct the steering wheel, if you care.
