You are bidding on Two 1974 Honda XL 250 Motorcycles 1st vin XL250K2002195 miles 3749 2nd vin XL2502009617 miles 2530 I bought these from an estate and the husband and wife One bought new in 1975 and the other in 1976 both new. There condition near identical both had been sitting for a while with gas in there tanks, overall in good shape but need some work. I cleaned both tanks and carbs, put on new petcocks, new batteries and cleaned them up some. The compression was low on both of them sprayed oil in the spark plug holes and let them sit a couple weeks. Got them both running and everything works, lights, stop, tail, blinkers. They clutch and shift fine, do not smoke, both filter foams were shot so no filters just the steel inner parts. They both start hard, usually need a push start to get going. Once running they start very easy with the kick starter. I am going to say for the auctions description they are NOT running... They do need work I have had them running but they need tuning, points, timing, carbs re cleaned what ever. I will guarantee they clutch and shift like perfect, brakes are like new, seats are not ripped, tanks have some small dents and scratches (the inside of the tanks were very varnished up from sitting, I used meratic acid and got them cleaned up decent) One needs a new choke cable, all other cables on both bikes are good. Tires are still like new. I am trying to give the best description I can, THEY STILL NEED SOME MORE WORK but what a fined to get two identical bikes in this condition. The other did not want to fire up. Like I have said a few time now, these will need some more TLC. The right person will have them going with some work.
