You know that the 1997 is one of the best mechanical years for the SL500 and this one has all of the 1997 standard features...I'm not listing them here other than to say all work and the HVAC is perfect, hot and cold. Seats heat, cruise is smooth, CD player comes with three 6 disc units and I'll even include my tunes if you want. This car originally had a built in cell phone but I removed it and use the compartment on the dash for small items...note the pictures. This SL500 has been babied a lot and I am the second owner since 2001 and always in California. For the last 8 years it has been primarily my "golf car"...22 miles each way to my club...and a section of road to stretch her legs! I'm selling because 1) My wife thinks it rides "rough" (hey it's the sports model and she was spoiled with an S300 SDL) and the seat design won't allow for reclining very far so she can sleep on road trips, and 2) I am 76 and need something a little easier to get in and out of...like something not so low. Always garaged and engine always maintained with Mobil 1. Normal maintenance items, oil, brakes, tires, tranny service, belts, etc., plus only these few "unscheduled" within the last ten years:New radiator; new spark plug coil; new top solenoids; windshield; belt idler; top switch, exterior temp sensor. ALL parts have been genuine MBZ OEM. The hard top has never been on in CA as the top goes down whenever it's nice and is put up at least 3x a week to avoid training the material. The car seldom goes out in the rain and I even have the CARFAX from my purchase.. The previous owner seemed to have left the hardtop on a lot or the soft top down as I had to replace the rear window part of the soft top about two years after acquisition. The hardtop has been hanging in my shop all these years and I'll only get it down when you buy the car...it's interior looks fine but the exterior is very dirty from dust. The exterior of this SL has minimal nicks from road stuff and the windshield was replaced in 2012. There are two minor exterior dings to note...see the pictures for the tiny crease in the rear deck near the MBZ symbol, and the pea sized dimple in the right rear wheel flare. Also, the left front signal assembly has the plastic cover missing...flew off somewhere long the line. I will have a new one for you but may not have installed it. The rear view mirror had a broken bracket a few years ago and it is in the rear storage compartment. I don't know how to remount the mirror, I just use the exterior side mirrors and tend to drive Italian style (you're behind me, who cares about you). Baaaaaad!
