Vehicle Detail
1968 442 Bone Stock #s Matching 400 motor, 400 Trans, 3.08 Posi, AC, PS, PB, Power Trunk Release. Body on Restoration... 2001 thru 2008... Car has been sitting since work was last done on it in 2008. I am the 3rd owner and have owned this 442 since 2000. My plan was to make it as perfect as I could to show room stock! Just the way Oldsmobile had built it. No Modifications other than Red Line Radials. The spare is the original Bias red line that are mounted on the correct 1968-69 only 14x6 SSII rims. Not a W-30.. Appearance package only! Nothing internal. No D heads! I have the Red air cleaner and black fender wells as well. There are many NOS trim pieces on the exterior of the body that I collected in the mid 80s..... including headlight bezels, grille, turn signal lenses and bezels, Complete L&R Tail Light housings! door handles, L&R mirrors, nos hood insulation and more.. Rear bumper is triple plated chrome and is just beautiful to look at. The undercarriage sports a new gas tank, brake lines, fuel lines, trans lines..... under side was done to look like the factory appearance. Frame blasted and is smooth as butter! You can see the serial number on left rear frame rail near bumper that is perfect! Body still wears original under coating... Under side is as nice as the top side! Interior is like brand new! Wood steering is near perfect! Trunk compartment is as nice as they come! The car is not finished, the motor needs to be installed with the trans and the new engine compartment wiring harness. All engine Compartment accessories and brackets are painted and ready to install. This motor still has the factory heat shield that wraps around the right exhaust manifold! Also the rear exhaust has the factory original from 1968 tailpipe hangers that have a 7 stamped into them! How many cars still have those holding up trumpets? Their not reproductions!! Engine ran fine when pulled, the heads were tore down and I planned on putting in hardened seats. Car still needs exhaust, belts & hoses. Still have the Harrison 4 core radiator that is fine. Again this is Not a W-30 car.... Just a #s matching 442I have all the receipts for most parts collected from the mid 80s to 2008 and receipts from 2nd owner. Plus sales paper work from 1974 when 2nd owner purchased car on a trade in. Again this car is bone stock! No Modifications!
