Vehicle Detail
Before anything I want to state this car runs and drives and is currently registered and is driven around AND HAS JUST HAD OVER $3500 WORTH OF REPAIRS DONE TO IT ON TOP OF BUYING IT. SO PLEASE DONT BOTHER LOW BALLING ME , AT MY ASKING PRICE YOUR GETTING 2 YEARS OF MY LABOR WITH A BAD BACK FOR FREE, RESEARCH HOW EXPENSIVE THE PARTS ARE FOR YOURSELF. Now For your consideration I have a 1949 series 62 Cadillac I have been working on for the last 2 years. I purchased this car from the third owner who had it in storage since 1971. The car has undergone a lot of work in the last year to get it to the point of basically being road worthy once again. The cars 331 v8 runs very well and has the following new parts installed. New fuel tank, new fuel sending unit, new water pump, thermostat, hoses, fan, new aluminum radiator, new 12v mini starter, new gm 1 wire alternator, the car has been converted to 12v with a voltage reducer installed on the factory gauges, new battery, rebuilt distributor, new coil, new cap and wires not installed yet, carb has been cleaned and lines are new, all the brakes are new, master, wheel cylinders, shoes, lines etc all new, the wheel bearings have been cleaned and repacked with new seals, rims are repainted and new tires installed with 3 sets of hub caps the original 49 caps (poor condition) a nice set of 55 caddy caps and a wire set. I'm sure I did more but can't think of it now. Basically the car will need some attention to finish up some stuff like a rusted tail pipe, noisey a arm bushing, broken Speedo cable and some stuff still needs to be swapped out to 12v like the horn and heater but the car runs, drives, stops and is currently registered. The car it's self is relatively solid for its year but does have some older repairs bubbling on the lower front fenders and right rear quarter top, doors are very solid, floors are a little soft on the right front foot well, no major hole yet but if you poke at it I'm sure it will go through, the rest is solid, frame is nice except for a small hole on the left side behind the leaf spring mount from were a mouse nest was (very repairable and isolated to just that area) there was however a very low quality repair made years ago to the left side body mounts as seen in the photos. The paint is fadded with primer showing through here and there so if your into that patina look this car has it. The rear bumper is rusted out but I have purchased a solid one that is included. All of the chrome is showing its age. The interior is original and in decent condition but the carpet has been removed and there's 1 rip in the headliner. I do have the original radio that is included.Basically my original plan was to make it road worthy and leave the body as it is but now the wife would like a c4 corvette convertible so this has to go. This car is registered and on the road and I do drive it to cruise nights the way it is . I would trade it for or towards a c4 corvette convertible, Feel free to message for my phone number if you have any questions. The car is for sale or trade locally so I reserve the right to end the auction.
