The 1973 Honda CR 250 M Elsinore, was the game changer. It revolutionized motocross and made the Honda Elsinore the bike to own. I bought this bike at an estate sale a few months back. It is a true 1973 with a California clear title. When I picked it up the pipe was missing. So I ordered a DG pipe for it,cleaned out the carb, added new fuel mix, and it started up after a few kicks. This bike has crazy compression, and has a lot of parts that appear to be from the showroom, including the vintage Bridgestone knobby tires front and back. This bike is pretty clean, not perfect, but it presents itself well. Everything that is supposed to be on the bike is on the bike. As I mentioned the DG pipe is not original, but I believe most everything else looks to be. Even the original tank sticker is still in place. Cosmetically, there is a dent in the tank, you can see it in the photos. The frame has been gusseted as shown in the photos. The kickstarter flips out on its own, but that is an easy fix. The clutch does not engage, and I'd guess that the springs are probably worn out after 45 years, but the good news is that all the parts are available right here on ebay to address that issue. These Elsinores, like all early 1970's motocross bikes are getting harder to find and higher in price. This would make a nice vintage racer, or you could make this into a man cave trophy. I'd keep this bike for myself, but I only have so much space in the garage, and if I start putting bikes in the kitchen I will be divorced by the summer!
