Vehicle Detail
For sale, physician owned and beloved 2007 BMWR1200s with very low miles, under 8k on odometer. Still possibly the strongest boxer engine to date by BMW, limited production run before evolving in the the even rarer HP2 ensures that you will have a one of a kind collectors piece with only 432 sent to the USA, with the red stripes being the rarest color. Purchased in 2012 from owner of max BMW in Albany NY, owner was cleaning out his boxers; HP2, boxer cup Replika 1100s and my R1200s with under 1000 miles on it. As fellow BMW owners will tell you expect well over 150k of use on a well maintained German bike. This bike has been meticulously maintained with up to date fluids, warranty checks, Dunlop sport max tires with mild wear, never down and always stored inside with my other bikes. Miles added to bike evenly span the 5 + Years of ownership and obtained only during Sunday outings with other sport riders in the mountains, this bike is extremely capable gentlemen’s sport bike and well suited to taller riders.• Compared to the BMW R1100S which it succeeded, the R1200S was 13 kg (29 lb) lighter, and (with a compression ratio raised from 11.3:1 to 12.5:1)it was 25% more powerful with a "hexhead" motor rated at 122 horsepower (91 kW with stock pipe) but has the Remus exhaust likely bumping the horsepower to 130 or higher. Much of the weight saving was down to a new trellis-type frame which replaced the massive alloy frame of the R1100S. The R1200S thus had superior handling, improved braking, higher power output, greater ground clearance, and sport ergonomics. Although the instrumentation was updated, the bike retains the unconventional BMW-system indicator switches (one on either side). Factory options on this bike include upgraded factory front and rear Öhlins shock absorbers, switchable ABS, a light weight Remus muffler, heated grips, a expensive Baglux tank cover from the UK, boxer engine head cover/sliders (never mounted) and matching red silver Timbuktu messenger bag. Other options still available at your dealership would be wider rear rim for 190 tire (presently it has a 180), solo rear tail piece, and tire pressure monitoring system. It sounds amazing with the Remus exhaust and extra baffling is included.Other Bikes in pictures not included, but illustrate my need to thin out the garage and get something the kids can use before they are grown and gone. A $500 non refundable deposit and communication is due within 24 hours of the end of the sale and the balance is due within 5 business days via bank to bank wire transfer or of course cash in person if local. Credit cards and PayPal are only accepted for the deposit. I cannot take either method for the full payment amount. Bank to bank wire transfers usually show in within 24 hours of transfer, except on weekends. Please keep this in mind when considering delivery time. Once payment has been confirmed and cleared, you may ship your vehicle within 2-5 business days. We will email or call you when the payment has cleared and again when the vehicle is shipped. Please arrange a reputable shipping company, ideally through your local dealership, as bargain transports are often not a bargain and may hold the bike for ransom demanding more money for drop off. Seller will send pictures before transport to ensure no damages to bike if any transport issues arise. No warranty but BMW has been excellent if any factory updates during each service appointment, fellow BMW owners know what I mean by this.
