Up for sale is an 1984 Mercedes Benz 380 SL in Forrest Green It is a 3.8 Liter V8 with 4 speed automatic transmission in stock specification. The car shows approx 141K miles after 8.5 years of ownership. The car was purchased from Sterling McCall Toyota in August of 2009. All filters and fluids have been changed and this car is ready for use. It comes with factory hardtop, original owner’s literature, recent records and clean title. The 3.8L V8 runs strong with service history including the original service booklet which details service for the first 60k mikes of the vehicle. From these records it states that the car was serviced in California. In terms of our ownership we have records dating back to 2011 where service was performed at AutoBahn Imports & Ed’s MB Medics both in Smyrna, GA. These are two reputable independent service centers serving the metro Atlanta area. Most notably in September of 2016 the 3.8L V8 had a top end inspection @ Autobahn imports where both camshafts and rocker arms were replaced. In this service fluids were changed along with valve cover gaskets, belts , chain tensioner and spark plugs. It should be noted that during this inspection it was recommended that the front end should be thoroughly inspected and there was play in the steering wheel on center. This service was planned and never completed. The exterior will need restoration in spots. However, the underpinnings are in great shape and the car shows very little rust. GA/CA/TX car kept in warm weather and little exposure to salt/snow. The forrest green finish does show imperfections most notably on the hardtop. The body of the vehicle contains various scuffs and imperfections as the photos indicate. There is also some bubbling around the gas cap. The chrome rims are structurally sound but need to be refinished. There is also a crack to the driver’s side fog lamp. The interior shows wear to the seats including cracking to armrest and a tear to the drivers side upper seat. There are also cracks to the dash. The speedometer and all electronics are working to the best of our knowledge. It should be noted that the odometer stuck about a year ago at the mileage indicated in the photos. I anticipate less that 2k miles have been put on the car since the odometer became inoperable. Overall the car does have imperfections but still runs well.
