Vehicle Detail
No reserve auction on a 2010 Jaguar XKR coupe, with a low 14,163 miles. Clean Carfax. These cars are very rare, particularly one like this with such low miles. The 2010 engine is the 5.0 liter supercharged motor, with 510 hp. I bought the car last October, and planned to use it as my daily driver, except during the winter. The dealer had put on a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s, a tire designed for "occasional light snow." The tires actually work pretty well in the cold. The dealer changed the engine oil, and flushed the AC refrigerant (at my request). Simply due to the age of the car, I had my shop replace all fluids, including brake, transmission, rear differential, and coolant. Some of these fluids are quite specific to this model Jaguar, and my shop ordered those as appropriate. My shop also replaced both engine air filters, the cabin filter, supercharger belt, and the serpentine belt. The engine uses a timing chain, not a belt, so that was not replaced. I had Xpel installed on the front of the car (hood half way) and behind the rear wheels. I also replaced the battery with a new one. The car is now fully up to date on all maintenance items. Everything works fine. Also included are new HRE RC100 forged monoblok wheels, with a brushed finish. If you're not familiar with HRE wheels, look them up. These are incredibly light and strong, and some of the nicest wheels you can buy. Definitely appropriate with this car, and are a big improvement over the stock OEM wheels (I still have if you want them). They are also really expensive... The car drives beautifully, is fast, with tons of torque. The motor is truly a gem. I get a lot of compliments on the car. One of the things I was really happy to see is the frequency of the oil changes when the motor was new. I am amazed at the number of people who let their new car go 10,000 miles before the first oil change. From the Carfax, you can see that the first owner had the oil changed no later than 1,710 miles (actually says "oil and filter changed", and possibly as early as 1,166 (just says "maintenance inspection completed"). After that, it looks like the oil was changed again at 2,188 (5/4/2013), 3,100 (6/23/2014), and 4,263 (1/13/2016). Not showing up on the Carfax is the dealer changed oil at 12,430 when I bought the car. I have stored the car in my garage, including through the winter, on a battery tender. I have both sets of keys, owner's manual, and the title in hand. This is a rare chance to own a supercar that you can use as a daily driver, and justify doing so at an affordable price. These are some of the most underrated cars out there, with lots of favorable reviews (YouTube is a good source). They have a great reliability record too, without the supercharger/turbo issues you see with so many new performance cars. The bad - there are a few cosmetic things to mention. The dealer told me that the prior owner glued a Jaguar emblem on the front of the hood. They removed the emblem, but had to repaint the hood. I wouldn't have known if they hadn't told me. There was a scratch on the passenger door, so I asked them to repaint that as well. They did the whole door, and I can't see any differences in the match color for either the hood or the door. After buying the car, I figure out they must have painted the front fenders and front bumper as well, because there were no stone chips at all. There are some very fine chips on the side skirts behind those sections, but I only noticed this difference when waxing the car. There are a few blemishes. The driver's side rear view mirror has scratches on the front (non mirror side). There is a non-glossy spot on the right rear fender, about the size of a silver dollar. There is also a non glossy mark just behind the passenger door that looks like it might be from something soft that rubbed up against the car, perhaps when the car was transported in a truck. The driver's side door has had the edge touched up because it must have scrapped on some concrete or something. There is a mark behind the passenger side front wheel, just from something coming up from the road. The rear bumper has a small mark from what I assume was someone bumping the car while parallel parking. All of these things are really hard to see in photos, but I took pictures of each. Except for the mark behind the passenger side front wheel, they all look worse in person, but are not that bad. You might not notice these issues if I didn't point them out to you, but you would after owning the car for a little while. There might be a few other nicks or small scratches, but that's the big stuff. I'm pretty OCD about this kind of thing, and most people selling the car would probably just say something like "wear typical of a used car." I just want to disclose everything I can think of, and I would say these cosmetic blemishes are probably more typical of a car with twice the mileage. I'm selling the car because I'm tired of driving my truck in the winter and I'm not going to use the Jaguar at that time of year. I'm also interested in going back to a manual transmission. This is my third high end performance car (prior cars were a Porsche 911S and a Corvette Z06), and all three have had autos, but my driving is relatively free of stop and go traffic. My commute is 80 miles a day, and my truck is old school with leaf spring suspension and drum brakes, and the mileage is getting pretty high. I need to use it for my boat and other utility purposes, so selling the truck is not an option. I don't want three cars, even though I've considered that route... The Michelin tires on the Jaguar actually work well in cold temps, but there is no way I'm driving this car in the snow. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. A deposit of $2,000 is due within 24 hours of auction close through Paypal. The remaining amount is due with a bank check within ten days. The car must be picked up within three weeks after the close of the auction. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks, and good luck!
