My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos and read this entire written description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2001 BMW X5. I would rate the exterior of this X5 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a great looking BMW. It is finished in silver over matching gray leather interior, which is a good color combination. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. In fact, these photos were taken without even washing the exterior or touching the interior...after sitting outside for several weeks. That's how genuinely clean this truck is. The body lines are all nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gates all open and close easily. All of the trim and moldings are present and show well. There is a star in the windshield basically right in front of the driver. Please consult your local laws to determine if this will need replaced in your state. All the other glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in nice rubber with average tread all around. Pride in ownership shows throughout this X5. Please take your time and check out each of the photos to see how clean this truck came in. I would also rate the interior of this X5 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets are virtually spotless throughout the interior. A full set of factory floor mats are included, too. Both front seats are power operated. The leather seats are clean, comfortable and supple. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good. There are steering wheel audio controls, too. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent temperature settings for both the driver and passenger. It's too cold out to confirm that the air conditioner is cooling effectively but everything looks to be in order. The heater works well. Rear passengers enjoy ample room in the back of this X5. Both rear doors have retractable sunshades, which are fully intact and work properly. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this X5. Mechanically, this BMW appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.0L inline six cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are excellent. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The check engine light was on when I acquired this X5. There were codes for the exhaust cam over advanced and over retarded, so my best guess would be to look at the cam position sensor. However, this does not have any noticeable impact on how this X5 drives. This truck is an absolute pleasure to drive. The engine makes good power and is perfectly smooth. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. In the photos, you can see that the ABS lights are on. I don't remember these being on when I got this truck, but I let it sit a while over the holidays before I got around to processing this unit and ABS sensors don't like sitting around as they tend to accumulate gunk on the wheel speed sensors. I'd look there first if these lights bother you. If it were my vehicle, I wouldn't care...but some people do. The AWD system is tested and working properly. Out on the highway, this X5 drives like an absolute dream. If you're looking for a jewel of an X5 but don't want to part with a small fortune, this well loved 2001 X5 deserves your serious consideration. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
