***SELLING AT NO RESERVE!*** This scrambler styled airhead is based on a clean, numbers-matching low mileage (39,XXX miles) 1973 BMW R75/5 that was missing all of it's original bodywork when I got it. I decided to build the bike up from what I had in my stash of parts, something that is different from the herd and more versatile than the original, something I could ride on the street as well as the deep woods behind my house. What you see here is just that; a bike that stands out from the pack, and that is equally fun to ride on wooded trails as it is on the street. Engine number matches the frame ID tag and the title, it's a matching numbers bike, manufactured in December of 1972 per the original headstock tag. A lot of custom work has been done to accomplish this, and the result is nothing short of a fun little BMW! Some of the highlights; MX style footpegs, custom rear subframe and custom seat, British front and rear fenders, 18 inch front wheel to match the rear, alloy top triple clamp, toaster tank with that classic vibe, fresh brakes, tune up, new trail tires, new battery, BMW F650 handlebars, newer style reed-type crankcase breather, fresh trans and rear drive fluids, and on and on. It has a few scratches and finish imperfections here and there, certainly not a trailer queen. But tthis bike needs nothing to enjoy right now, it starts on command, makes no funny noises, shifts fantastically and stops equally well. Fly in and ride it home!
