Available for your bidding consideration is a beautiful, tastefully upgraded 1972 240Z. I am listing it for the original owner who owns a busy medical practice, is not familiar with ebay, and due to a strong emotional attachment to the car, having bought it new and enjoyed it for so many years, desires to be separated from the issues of letting it go. That being said, I have copied the listing information he provided as it appears to be a very detailed and comprehensive description of its present condition along with changes and modifications done over the course of ownership. His description is as follows: This 1972 Datsun 240Z has 78k miles from new and is on offer from its original owner, who has performed a series of cosmetic and mechanical modifications over the course of his ownership. The exterior received a full repaint 1999 and has been fitted with an aftermarket body kit and headlight covers. The interior was redone with re-padded and reupholstered seats, new carpets, and additional padding and soundproofing throughout. The car retains it original 2.4L inline-six that benefits from a replacement head, new oil pan gasket, electronic ignition, and aftermarket header/performance exhaust combination. A 5-speed transmission from a 280Z has replaced the original 4-speed unit. The car is sold with a clear Idaho title in the seller’s name. Originally finished from the factory in Orange (918), the car was repainted Candy Apple Red in 1999. Prior to the repaint, some metalwork was performed repairing rust that had developed along the fenders. An aftermarket bodykit, smoked headlight covers, driving lights, magnetic door stops along each beltline, aftermarket side mirrors, and louvers on the rear hatch glass and quarter windows were also added at that time. Wheels are 15″ aluminum alloys wrapped in newer Michelin rubber. The interior shows well in the photos with a carpet kit and seats that were both fitted at the time of the repaint. Imperfections noted by the seller include a small tear in the driver’s seat upholstery along with a crack in the dash over the accessory gauge pod. Interior modifications from stock include and aftermarket stereo and speakers, center console-mounted armrest with cupholders, an aftermarket shift boot along with additional sound insulation that was installed by the seller at the time of the interior refresh. The working odometer shows 78k miles. The original 2.4L inline-six breathes through standard-spec SU carburetors and has been fitted with a new head and oil pan gasket. Modifications include an electronic ignition, aftermarket plug wires, K&N air filter kit, and a wrapped header paired to a performance exhaust. Shifting is handled through a 5-speed transmission from a 280Z that replaced the original 4-speed unit. The owner maintains the car himself and performed a full synthetic oil change 200 miles ago. The underside exhibits wear and surface corrosion in line with the mileage. The seller notes some rust development along the driver-side frame rail as noted in the pictures, and also that the passenger floor pan will require rust repair. Note: This description is just as I would have expected from the owner, honest and not missing any flaws, (none of which detract from it's amazing condition) and I have advised him to list the car at a VERY REASONABLE "buy it now" price to ensure a quick and easy change of ownership.
