A rare 1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible- 1 of only 87 built with this color and trim. Built in Dearborn, MI in March of 1973. This was a factory home office reserve, it never went to the showroom (built for/originally owned by a Ford exec.). This is a quality, solid American made car. This is a previous Arizona car. Well cared for and maintained. It has never been in an accident. This Cougar has 84,600 miles on it. Has a 351C Cleveland engine. FMX automatic transmission. 2.75:1 Traction-Lok rear axle. Medium aqua paint, and white leather bucket seats with black components (wood grain in dash). This car has original engine, paint, interior, and dash, etc. Original door plate, matching Marti report. Original AM/FM radio. The exhaust was modified to dual from the manifold. Factory installed air conditioning would need to be made to Freon (as this was only driven as a convertible, AC was not used or redone). Shows no rust, even on the undercarriage. Matching numbers. Owned currently for 15 years. Has been stored in a moisture free garage. Good condition tires and rims- extra set of 4 rims included with car. Notes: there are a few small scratches and chips in the paint. Nothing big, dented, or highly visible. Area behind convertible top, on trunk top has a couple cracks in paint-shown in photos. There is a crack in the passenger side top of dash-(additional extra replacement dash included with car), The original XR-7 leather seats do show some wear. Passenger side seat has cracked open seam. Interior shows some wear at edges, mostly back seat door area. Front above grill top XR-7 piece is cracked in middle. Car show plate added by trunk. Car engine, mechanics have no problems. It runs great. Car includes: All service and maintenance records, & receipts for all parts- for last 15 years. Marti report All 4 original factory service manuals: Body, Transmission, Engine, Electrical Extra additional parts: an extra dash, 4 extra hubcaps, extra window motors, etc. This is a used car. It is 44 years old. It runs great, and has been a solid good running car. There is no warranty. It is being sold AS IS.
