VERY IMPORTANT - READ ENTIRE LISTING COMPLETELY. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. I am a current Tesla owner and has one reservation for a Model 3. This reservation is in "Ready to Order" status, meaning I can configure my Model 3 and place the order online. See actual screen shots of Tesla's "Ready to Order" notification email, and the online order pages under my Tesla login. I have NOT placed the order yet. (VIN # is therefore not available. The # in listing is not the actual VIN, it is from a VIN I found in a publicly published article.) This is an auction for the right to configure the Model 3 to your liking and to subsequently buy it from me at the same price that any new owner would pay Tesla. See below. This is what will happen with this sale:This auction completes and the non-refundable deposit is paid by you.Within 14 days of end of auction (except 12/23-27 when I'll be traveling) we meet in person, you pay me a secondary deposit equal to half of the remainder of bid price minus initial deposit (e.g. with final bid price of $7000 with $1000 initial deposit, this step would be $3000) in cashier's check or money order, we sign sale agreement, and have it notarized.We go online at a public library and configure the options under my Tesla login. At the last order page, you would enter your credit card info to make the $2500 payment to Tesla to place the order.When Tesla notifies me that the vehicle is ready for pick up, you must agree to arrange for and finish the remaining steps below within 30 days of the ready-for-pick-up date.We meet at the Tesla Fremont factory. If you like, I can try sign you up for a factory tour (needs prior arrangement).For delivery, you would bring two cashier's checks: One is paid to me for the remainder amount of this auction (half of bid price after subtracting first and second deposits). The other is paid to Tesla for the cost of the vehicle including California sales tax, Destination & Doc fee.Once Tesla completes selling the car to my name, we will fill out the title transfer paperwork on the spot to sell the car to you.If for some reason you are not able to complete step 2, the ebay deposit that you paid is forfeited as it is non-refundable. If for some reason you are not able to complete all of steps 3 to 7, both the first and second deposits will be forfeited as they are non-refundable. This is to protect the value of my ability to order the Model 3 now - by the time it is deemed that you won't be able to pay for the car, I will have lost my reservation entirely. (Since I won't be able to buy the Model 3 with my own money, from Tesla's perspective I basically bailed out of buying the car, and my reservation will have been "consumed" already.) In addition, I would have bought insurance for the Model 3 (otherwise Tesla wouldn't sell it to me), though I will get a pro-rated refund when I cancel the policy. All other colors are a $1000 option.)$1,500 - 19’’ Sport Wheels (18’’ Aero Wheels standard)$5,000 - Enhanced Autopilot$3,000 - Full Self-Driving Capability$1,000 - Destination & Doc Fee (charged by Tesla, separate from tax and license) -$1000 - My original Model 3 reservation payment $59,500 total price - before taxes, delivery, tax credits, license, etc...... AUCTION WINNING BID/PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE YOUR SALES TAX OR LICENSE FEE (WILL VARY BY STATE, IF IN CALIFORNIA, THE CAR WILL ALREADY BE REGISTERED FOR THE FIRST YEAR FROM TESLA). IT WILL BE THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE CAR ONLY AND WILL INCLUDE TESLA'S DESTINATION FEE CHARGED ON ALL CARS (TESLA'S COST TO GET IT TO THE TESLA STORE/DEALER FOR DELIVERY) Tesla is more than one year delayed. If you do not have a reservation already placed with Tesla, the earliest you will be able to get a car directly from Tesla will be well into the year 2019. Here is your chance to end the wait in just 4 weeks and have a brand new car. You agree that the final check amount you issue to Tesla will depend on the options noted above. BOTH THE INITIAL AND SECONDARY DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. YOU AGREE THAT, TECHNICALLY AND LEGALLY, I WILL BE THE FIRST BUYER OF THE MODEL 3 FROM TESLA. IT WILL THEN BE SOLD TO YOU BY ME. AS SUCH, IT WILL TECHNICALLY BE SOLD TO YOU AS A USED VEHICLE. YOU ALSO AGREE TO PAY ANY GOVERNMENT TRANSFER FEES THAT MAY ARISE OUT OF TRANSFER OF VEHICLE TITLE (EVEN WHEN TRANSFER IS DONE AS A GIFT). EDIT: after consulting someone with a HUGE amount of private car sale experience, I've been advised not to transfer title as gift (as it is not true), but to transfer as a sale with the amount equal to the cashier's check you paid to Tesla, plus the order reservation amount. Either way you would have to pay tax, but the latter would be the way done right. IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE THE SALE WHEN THE CAR IS DELIVERED, THE DEPOSITS WILL BE FORFEITED TO ME TO COVER SOME OF THE EXPENSE I WILL HAVE INCURRED (THE INITIAL TESLA RESERVATION DEPOSIT) AND MY LOSS OF A VERY VALUABLE EARLY RESERVATION. THE ENTIRE PRICE OF THE CAR IS DUE AT DELIVERY (SALE PRICE + TAX, LICENSE, TITLE & DOC FEES FOR WHATEVER STATE YOU ARE REGISTERING THE CAR IN, MINUS THE $2500 YOU ALREADY PAID TO TESLA, AND THE $1000 I ALREADY PAID TO TESLA DURING RESERVATION). FUNDS MUST BE VERIFIED AS FREE AND CLEAR BEFORE TAKING DELIVERY. NATURALLY, THE CAR WILL BE A NEW CAR IN NEW CONDITION AND UNDER A NEW CAR WARRANTY. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THE CAR HAS NOT YET BEEN BUILT, AND WHEN WE PLACE THE ORDER ONLINE, IT WILL TAKE APPROXIMATELY 4 WEEKS TO DELIVER. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT DELAYS BY TESLA OR THOSE BEYOND MY CONTROL CAN OCCUR. ANY DELAYS WILL NOT HAVE AN IMPACT ON YOUR COMMITMENT TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE. BY BIDDING ON THIS ITEM, YOU AGREE TO PURCHASE VEHICLE WHEN IT IS DELIVERED BY TESLA AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS OR DISCOUNTS IF TESLA TAKES LONGER THAN 4 WEEKS TO DELIVER THE VEHICLE. BECAUSE TESLA DOES NOT ALLOW TRANSFERS OF RESERVATIONS, I HAVE TO TECHNICALLY PURCHASE THE CAR FIRST (USING YOUR CASHIER'S CHECK), THEN TRANSFER THE TITLE TO YOU. WHILE YOU WILL BE THE FIRST TO DRIVE IT OFF THE TESLA LOT AS A BRAND NEW CAR, IT WILL TECHNICALLY BE SOLD AS A USED CAR. AS SUCH, YOU'LL SEPARATELY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SALES TAX AND LICENSE FEES YOUR STATE OF RESIDENCE CHARGES. FURTHERMORE, BECAUSE IT WILL BE SOLD AS A USED CAR, IT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY TAX CREDITS OR REBATES. I ALSO CANNOT CLAIM THE FEDERAL TAX CREDIT NOR THE CALIFORNIA TAX REBATE ON THE CAR AS THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO THOSE IMMEDIATELY RESELLING THE CAR. Keep in mind however that congress and a senate have a bill that if passed, will end the federal tax credit program in 2018, as such, no electric vehicle would be able to claim a tax credit or rebate. Even if the bill does not get passed, the maximum federal tax credit will phase out when Tesla reaches 200,000 cars sold in the u.s. They are very close to that number now. As such, very few model 3's (or model s and x's as well) will be eligible for full tax credits. Once they hit 200,000, phase out will begin and very soon no Tesla (model 3, s or x) will be eligible. This is an opportunity to be one of the first to own this amazing vehicle. Otherwise, current wait time is well over one year (longer if you don't live on the west coast).
