NO RESERVE AUCTION I'm selling my brother's beautiful 2001 BMW X5. This is a 1-owner BMW! Please be sure to read all of this listing. This is a "mechanic's special." The timing chain guides need replacing. There are videos on u tube showing how to do this, and if you are mechanically inclined, you could do this yourself quite reasonably. The cost to have the dealer do it was exorbitant, so my brother decided to purchase a new 2018 X5M. I do not recommend that you drive this BMW home. I trailered it to my house after the dealer in Minnetonka diagnosed that the timing chain guides were bad. The dealer said that there was no damage to the pistons. It has not been driven more than a few miles since the timing chain started getting noisy with the plastic guides being broken. The "Check Engine" light is on. It starts right up and does still lot drive. I have not taken it above 30 mph since the guides became noisy. My brother loved this car dearly. He even named it "Daisy." I've personally known this car longer than I've even known my wife! All maintenance was done at the BMW dealer in Minnetonka, MN. Anything this car needed it got right away at the dealership. The matched set of Michelin tires are in great shape! I would estimate the tread at 85%+. No reserve. Don't miss out. This would be a great one to rebuild or do an engine swap with.
