Don't forgot you need to still buy a rust free undamaged CJ to start with. Due the math = Can't buy a classic rust free CJ and then install 15,000 in upgraded high end parts under it for less than 25,000 ( if you do all the labor required) * If you pay the labor bill to have it done for you = better get 15,000 or more out of wallet to pay for the labor time. It takes 150 to 200 hours in labor time to go over every inch of a CJ if you do it correct to ensure everything is in " like new working order" Repair, replace, rebuild, re-wire, adjust anything in question ( if you want low miles and like new reliability ). and i don't like leaks - it takes a lot of time to remove leaks from under a CJ. Transmission and transfer case must come in and out! Oil pan removed, drive lines removes all labor time! You need to buy the parts required to do so also! Due the math 150 labor hours will cost you 15,000. * I don't pay myself or charge myself a retail labor rate = So the Buyer always gets much more than they ever pay for in a CJ i have done the work on. * I have been restoring - repairing Classic CJ for over 40 years. Stated repaired them in 1976 when the CJ7 first was sold new! I have build Baja trophy Jeep back in the 70 and have repaired 100 CJ over the years.
