1973 BMW R75/5 LWB This was the last year for the classic R75/5 and it features the more desirable Long Wheel Base. This example is in unusually nice condition. I’ve owned it for 9 years and ridden it 20k miles. It’s been well maintained and serviced. Runs beautifully and everything works. The top-end was rebuilt by vintage BMW specialist Karl Myers at Hermy’s BMW in Port Clinton, PA. I have the dealer receipts. The transmission output seal and rear drive input seal were both replaced. The front forks were rebuilt using new BMW heavy-duty springs, correct 13 rib boots and the headlight bracket rubber rings were replaced. The steering head bearings were replaced as were the wheel bearings. The drum brakes have been serviced and drive splines greased. New Ikon rear shocks were fitted with correctly sized SS covers. The carburetors have been completely rebuilt with new needles, diaphragms, floats, etc. All the bike’s cables have been replaced. Lots of new rubber. The seat is in excellent condition including new hinges and rubber bumpers. Electrically there are no funky wiring mods. There is a new BMW starter-signal switch on Magura low-bars and an upgraded Bosch H4 headlight. Tank is clean inside— has not been re-sealed with anything, new petcocks, BMW fuel lines and perfect badges. The exhaust system was replaced. Includes the original Krauser cases with key and a pair of original BMW stalked mirrors. Running Continental tires with Metzler tubes. Includes original tool tray, complete tool kit, wallet key and original owner’s manual in pouch. I recently moved to Miami and haven’t been riding much, hence the sale.
