Vehicle Detail
A well maintained 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with just over 83,300 miles. It is in great working condition. There are no leaks as nearly all the seals are new (replaced in 2015 and 2016). It has a ton of new parts and servicing performed in 2015 and 2016. The engine is a rebuilt Jasper engine with 82,000 miles and runs very strong, transmission shifts smoothly. There is no knocking, no check engine lights, nothing. The oil pressure and engine temperature are perfect. It's been a very reliable jeep. I've taken it from northern VA to New Jersey and back numerous times and never had problems (about an 8-hour round trip). I’ve made that trip in the middle of summer with the AC on the whole way and never had any overheating problems. In case you are not aware, the 2000 and 2001 Jeep Cherokees were prone to cylinder head cracking due to bad cylinder head castings. When I purchased the vehicle back in 2015 the original cylinder head cracked. Luckily, I had a warranty. The warranty company replaced the original engine with a rebuilt Jasper 4.0L inline 6 engine that only had 75,000 miles at the time. So currently the Jeep itself has 83,300 miles and the new engine only has 82,000 miles. You shouldn't ever have to worry about the cylinder head in this vehicle. I specifically asked for a Jasper engine and I was lucky enough to get one. The warranty company also replaced the entire cooling system. See below for a list of new parts. The paint has flaws but it is a 17-year-old vehicle. There is some rust but it never had issues passing inspection, please see the pictures. The interior is very clean. The Jeep has a clean carfax, no accidents ever. I can provide the carfax if you want it. The Jeep does need a new track bar. It’s about a $50 to a $100 part. If you hit a pot hole at times there is some wobble in the front suspension. My mechanic said a new track bar should fix the issue. **** I am still driving this vehicle so the mileage will go up slightly. Sold as-is **** Jasper Inline 6, 4.0L Engine with 82,000 miles (Installed in 2015) New complete set of stainless steel brake lines from front to back (Done in 2016) Newer tires (only about 8000 miles on them) New rear main seal in 2016 (around $700 to $800 job at most shops) New oil pan seal in 2016 All new seals and lines to the transmission in 2016 (front pump seal, trans cooler lines and fittings) All new cooling system in 2015 (Radiator, hoses, water pump) New seal in the rear differential in 2016 New blower motor in 2016 (A/C and heat blow like new) New A/C compressor 2015 (A/C works) New front and rear brake pads in 2016 Alignment and tire balance in 2016 New rear hatch struts (rear gate opens like new) Tune-up in 2016 (New spark plugs, air filter, coil boots, etc.) Vin 1J4FF48S8YL167071
